one great bottle
at first, found the price a bit steep out here (manila). not anymore. now, it goes everywhere i go - to hikes, to the office, to games. lives up to all the hype - no plastic taste, no lingering odors, incredible toughness. worth every peso i plunked into it, so much so i also got its 8 oz brother. only complaint is that the markings can easily get scratched off. other than that, it's one heck of a great bottle.

Only 2 Weaknesses
They are great!!! I have had mine for about 7 years now and it has traveled with my on almost every outing. I have left it in cars where it got well over 120 or below freezing. I have frozen it while full and it was great on a hot day. By noon most of the water had melted so it was icewater. The only down side to it is yes they do tend to scratch over time, and the markings that aid in measurement have worn off. And the handy plastic strap that keeps the lid with the bottle has worn out. Otherwise it is awsome!

one great bottle

This is a great durable bottle. I am glad that I bought two. It is so simple to clean and hasn't scratched and it's been through some rough patches. I highly recommend this bottle.

Invest in a quality bottle!
I know the importance of keeping hydrated. I use to carry around a bicycle waterbottle, but it always leaked and the water had that plastic taste. A chemistry professor friend turned me on to the Nalgene bottle. It is great! No bad taste, no leaking, can't break the bottle, and with the measuring scale printed on the bottle, I know exactly how much liquid I have consumed. My belief is to invest in quality products that last. Make a good investment towards your health, try this Nalgene bottle.

Useful and entertaining
This is the most useful water bottle existing. It is great for using as a water bottle, but even better as a form of entertainment such as a kickball, a holding container for anything interesting you catch on the hike or something as simple as pumping water into. It is also a fabulous form of punishment...just give it to the misbehaving party and tell them to fill it with filtered water. It'll take long enough to calm them down.

A Great Gift........
Everyone in my family always asks... What kind of water bottle is that? I tell them that it is the only water bottle you will ever need. This past Christmas,I gave one to everybody in my family. Then my family saw the violet one I bought. I told them Nalgene sold the bottles in six colors. They all gave me a list of what color they wanted this Christmas.

Indestructable games
I live in Montana, and sometimes when we get bored, we play games trying to break out Nalgene bottles just for fun. We play a modified game of shuffle board by throwing them at the concrete basketball court and trying to skid them near the edge from about 30 yards away. My friend drove over hers in an Astro Minivan. I put a rope tie on it for a while, and it worked well for swinging at things and removing various tree branches. We often have contests to throw them the highest in the air. Bouncing contests are fun, too. Of course all of this is done using full bottles. I took a hammer to it a couple of times because my friends didn't believe it would handle it. Don't try to boil water in it, I tried, it weekened it, so when I dropped it on the concrete a few days later it broke. The colored ones are cool, but in my experience, not quite as durable (however still insanely strong) as the black ones. They can also be used to monotonously carry water around solely for drinking, but where is the fun in that?

I love my nalgene
I was dying to get a nalgene bottle when I got home from camp because everyone had one. I was always borowing my friends nalgene. When I found out why everyone had one I was even more amazed(they will never brake) so I got home from camp and I was begging my mom to get me one so she finnally did and i feel so good having it with me where ever I go.

Great for Running!!!
Whenever I go Running in the mornings, I always make sure to take my Nalgene with me. It's got enough capacity to hold all the water I need and the toughness to handle whatever I can throw at it. (It once fell down a flight of stone steps and survived unscathed, save a few minor scratches and dents. It's Great!

Better than a coffee cup in the office
This bottle minimizes trips to the water cooler and is always a great way to strike up conversation or identify other outdoor enthusiasts at the office. After a decade of use, I finally managed to crack a (full) bottle after it fell off the top shelf of the refrigerator and hit the concrete floor. It still held the liquid, although I'm not sure that it would have withstood a second impact. These things are tough.

Love at first hike...
I love my nalgene bottle so much that I have two. I left one in a class and when I came back it was gone, it turned out that my T.A. had picked it up...but in the interim I bought myself a new one. They're not only great for hiking and camping, but they're great on campus. It seems like every other student has one, and the way the lid is structured (attatched with that handy loop) is great because I'd lose it otherwise, but also great because you can unscrew the lid and pass it through a backpack strap to keep it on or you can stick a carribeaner on it and do it that way. I know people who prefer the small-mouthed ones because you don't dribble out of them as much, but I like the wide mouthed one because there's so much more you can put in it...like big hunks of ice....and you can eat soup out of it too.
