Fit Tip: This item tends to run slightly small, most customers typically size up a half size.
You know that old distance running trick of slowing your breathing as you pass someone? It's an intimidation tactic designed to make others think twice about passing you. Step up to the starting line wearing the Nike ACG Air Teocalli XCR and you'll discover the same result without the fog of oxygen depletion--the only difference is that you're not bluffing. This is the trail runner's runner, a personal best from Nike and easily the most breathable and waterproof running shoe you'll find in the wilderness or on a racing course today. Slip it on and your feet are completely enveloped by a GORE-TEX® XCR protective barrier that keeps mud, rain, snow and soggy golf course clippings (think cross-country racing courses you want to aim high if you're going to fill these shoes ) away from your moisture-wicking running socks. While nearly all Nike performance shoes feature a cushioning Air-Sole unit in the heel, the Air Teocalli XCR has an extra-large Air-Sole unit for an enhanced pillowing effect. Turn the shoe over and you'll find hard traction spikes interspersed throughout the dual direction high abrasion rubber sole. Don't take a chance running in mud or snow in ordinary running shoes. If you own the Air Teocalli XCR, you're not only going places, you're getting there first.
Might buy a second pair!
Although I haven't worn this shoe a whole lot yet, I hiked over 12 miles in them right out of the box and they felt good. Although I wouldn't recommend hiking in them over rocky terrain like I did, for actually running they would be great. I have never had a gore-tex shoe before and was afraid they might be stuffy, but I had no problem with breathability under approximately 75 degree days. The tread is definitely a plus for off-pavement conditions, the shoes were comfortable, and the cushioning seemed adequate. I recommend this shoe!
dry as a bone
I run mostly indoors, however I wear trainers for casual shoes. I bought these after getting an impromptu foot soak every time I had to run to my car in the rain. When they arrived, I tried them on and turned on the hose. Dry as a bone.
PS I tried these on the treadmill, the tread is a bit too aggressive. Support, cushioning, and weight were great, but these sneakers are better suited for the outdoors.
Air Teocalli's Rock on Rocks!
After purchasing my Teocallis I decided to test them against their claims by running up and down a local 2,500 foot peak with terrain verying from fire road-to-jumbled rocky single-track. Nike's claims are not bogus with these shoes. I was comfortable all the way up and unbelievably cared for on the pounding, undulating trail back down. My feet should have been brutalized but, other than a small blister on the top of my pinky toe, I was cushioned and craddled all the way down.
Earlier this year, I had purchased a pair of Air Expedition Trails. Unfortunately, after only a few uses one of the seams on the side of the shoe tore open and I had to return the shoes. That's when I purchased/upgraded to the Teocallis instead. That was the best thing I could have done (and the return/credit process with Altrec was about as easy and trouble free as it gets). These are far superior in comfort and traction; and like the Expeditions, they are Gore Tex XCR waterproofed. I love 'em!

Incredible Shoe
This shoe is incredible. I can wear it year round and be very comfortable in it. The built in Gore-Tex is what I have been waiting for in a shoe like this. I always know my feet are going to be dry and comfortable. This is my second pair and I hope they continue to make them. I could wear this shoe the rest of my life.
great all around shoe
Great shoe for running or treking around in wet weather. The oversized air unit in the heal gives you the extra cushion needed for a long day of hiking.
great
We just received a pair of Nike Air Teocalli XRC Mens. The shipping took a while since we live in Canada. The cupon in the box had expired. But we like the product and the service that we are ordering another pair of the same but for woman. Thank You Brenda Vinkle
Hug the Trail in Comfort
After a month now of running trails up and down wooded mountains of the Appalachian, I can't really express how much I enjoy these shoes. Their gripping power on slopes make you feel part goat. The only issue I had was some down hill foot friction but that was due to my poor choice of socks.
If you walk or run the wilds, treat yourself to a better experience with the Nike ACG.
Best cushioning I tried so far
I originally bought these shoes because I have bad knees and I was right since my knees hurt less when I wear these trail runners compared with anything else. Gore-tex is of course great in the winter, but because of the great cushioning I also wear these during heat waves in Greece. This gore-tex is also more bearable on hot days than the competition.
Great shoes from a great store
Great pair of shoes, very comfortable, completley waterproof, no leaks. Even better than the Nike Air Yahats that I purchased last year. Definitley worthy of 5 stars.
Good Value
These shoes are awesome! They required no break-in time, grip well in loose dirt and sand, and the waterproofing provided by the Gore-Tex seal is no joke. I recommend these to anyone who wants lightweight, breathable, and waterproof trail runners. Nike ACG delivers!
All terrains!!!
These are good shoes for running in mud or bad ground with stones. Two little flaws, the sole is very hard and it is not a good sensation to run on road, and i think they could better hold the foot when the ground is not flat. But I'm very happy with these shoes, they are good.
great shoe - on my second
I have my second pair of these - using them daily for running. The Goretex is great - first ones that my feet didn't get wet in rain or snow.
anonimous
excellent shoes
GREAT SHOES
I run in Ohio and this shoe keeps my feet dry AND allows my feet to breath. Great for fall, winter, spring and summer running. This is a GREAT SHOE!!!
dry feet!
These shoes deliver! I just skate boarded back from the Kirkland library in a full on rain storm and here I sit with perfectly dry feet. Nike has made me a believer.
Great shoe for mountain biking
Was looking for a shoe to wear when mountain biking and these fit the bill. They are totally waterproof, very comfortable on or off the bike, have a very grippy sole and are well made. If you want a trainer rather than a specific cycling shoe try these because they are great.
Great for indoors and outdoors!
While I see many positive comments about this pair of shoes, they are also a great pair of indoor shoes!! I cannot stand any shoes that make my feet feel stuffy. The Nike ACG Air Teocalli XCR, however, does not even give me a single moment of stuffiness feeling. Strongly recommended for walking / athletic use!
Great Shoe
Great shoe. Excellent for keeping the feet dry when the weather's not. No flaws in the breathability/comfort areas either. Highly recommended.
As an added bonus, I got a great sale price and shipping and service exceeded expectations.
Great winter shoes!
I live in Wisconsin and have struggled in the past with finding just the right shoe for winter weather. I walk/jog/run 2 to 5 miles everyday regardless of the weather. I did take one day off when it was 45 degrees below zero, with the wind chill. Anyway, these shoes are great! They have taken me through rain, slush, and snow. Even in deep snow my feet have stayed dry. Some snow does accumulate around the top of the shoe, but does not get down into the shoes. Due to my mileage I am on my second pair of these shoes. I wear the old pair for knock-arounds and wet weather chores. I highly recommend these shoes and will be buying them again next winter.
fantastic running shoe
I have an early stage of a foot bunion (a bump on the side of my foot) these running shoes are a great fit, the toe box is nice, and wide for a medium width shoe. Very comfortable and very waterproof. Nike is fantastic at 70 dollars, its a steal. I hope nike keeps making these
Great shoe for trail running
Great shoe! Like most Nike shoes narrow heal and moderate toe box (fits my narrow foot very well). Good support for hiking and trail running. They could possibly beef up the front of the shoe for those people who are going to hike with them more than run.
The ultimate trail shoe
I have had two pairs of these shoes and I am extremely impressed. Compared to other similar products I've tried, nothing comes close to these shoes in terms of comfort, weight and waterproofing. If they're still being made when my current pair wear out I'll be getting some more. Sizing is important however, I am a half size smaller in these shoes than my usual 'Nike' size.
So good that I just bought another pair.
Great shoes - so good in fact that I'm just now buying my second pair. Very well built - the first pair took a ton of beatings and lots of wet Northwest weather but they kept their shape through all of it and kept my feet dry without them ever feeling overheated. I mostly used these shoes for street running because I love a solid shoe with lots of support and not 'too' much cushioning (a lot of running shoes out there have so much cushioning that I feel like I'm running in sand). They are a little bit heavier than other running shoes but I'm sure they are lighter than most trail running shoes. (For more info check out my first review below.....)
No wonde they're Nike's Best !
They're also my best. Ever since I bought them about two weeks ago, I haven't even worn other shoes. Super light, strong, breathable, waterproof and beatifully designed. These are the best shoes I've seen around so far.
Awesome
I ordered these shoes a few weeks ago and have worn them almost every day since. They are very comfortable and very durable. They look good when I am working out too. I live in a colder climate and was worried that they might not keep my feet warm, but I was wrong. They are gore-tex and are extremely well insulated yet they are very breathable. I am completely satisfied with my shoe and with Altrec service.
Fantastic winter shoe!
I bought the wife a pair as a gift. She loved them so much I thought I'd try them. They are a fantastic winter shoe, great grip, light weight and moisture proof. Just what I was looking for - much more flexible than hiking boots.
Best shoe ever
The XCR is the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. It is super lightweight...so much so that it's almost like not wearing a shoe. The traction is great and the Gore-Tex keeps you dry even after hours of playing in knee deep snow. Awesome shoe. I just hope Nike keeps it around for a long time.
Awesome
The moment you slip these puppies on you realize your feet are going some place special. They're as comfortable as anything I've put my feet into, yet they grip and move over all terrain like a pro. I've hiked in 2-4 inches of snow and found them to be perfect light weight hikers or runners. If I could only own one pair of sneeks, these be IT......
Wonderful!!!!!
I haven't used Nikes for about 20 plus years - I gave these a try and am not disappointed at all! Above that they retain their shock absorption and are a wonderful shoe - highly recommended!
CAVEAT - I won't use them for winter running when the temp drops below 10 degrees F.
The Best
I'm in the Air Force and just returned home for Iraqi after being there for 5 months. I bought a new pair of Nike’s and started having a lot of foot problems within a month. After seeing a podiatrist several times, she recommended I buy a new pair, I found these. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever slipped on. This shoe has it all. My foot problems went away after two weeks of wearing them. I recommended them to any and everyone. Too bad some one stole mine out in front of my front door! lucky them.
Awesome Kicks
These shoes rock!! I've run through everything in them. My feet have stayed warm, dry, cool, and comfortable. Very stable even for shoe shredding pursuits such as bouldering and climbing. Although, my black labrador(running partner) took a while to get used to them after having my previous pair of Salomons for a year or so. Bottom line: These shoes are the best for any outdoor adventure.
dont run in the rain or snow without these
I bought these shoes to continue my training in Vermont during the winter. I had found that my regular nb 991's were slippery on the roads and often too wet to continue. The Nike's hold the ground, hold your ankle and keep out the rain and snow very well!
I highly recommend these shoes for high level running and playing in the snow and rain.
These slush stompers rock
I live in the great North woods of Minnesota and it gets wet, cold and snowy all in a matter of minutes here. I have been searching for a shoe that could hold up to the elements here and still provide the comfort of a fair weather running shoe. What I really needed was a shoe that I could run in, hike in, stay dry in and snow shoe in. After reading gear review after gear review I decided to try the Teocalli. I was not disapointed as the shoe is functioning just as I had wished. In fact I just got back from a run with the dog and it is snowing a wet heavy snow and my feet are dry as can be. One suggestion I'll make is that when you order the shoes, make sure you order your true shoe size as these babies are right on. Usally I need to order a half size bigger in Nike than I do in other shoes as they tend to run a little tighter in the toe box. But these slush stompers are right where they need to be. Order them now and enjoy the elements when you have the trails to yourself.
Brilliant trail trainers! Best I have got so far!
This are the best trail/running shoes I have got so far. Excellent traction for any terrain and totally waterproof. They wrap on your feet like a glove and are also very light. Well done team ACG-Nike! Congrats!
Great waterproof runner!!
TRACTION IS EXCELLENT, AND IS OKAY ON ROADS AS IT GIVES A LITTLE MORE STABILITY AND CUSHIONING.
If your going to buy one shoe buy this one...well?
The Nike ACG Air Teocalli's are the best trail runners on the market, I have Merrells, Asolo's and Solomon , but these are the best ! The Gore-tex is superb , and the bottom is seriously like a mountain bike tire tread, and they wrap around your foot and are super breathable, I'm telling you it's sooo worth the money, you won't regret it, also Altrec.com is the best website for outdoor gear, really cheap shipping and great service, A++++++++ !~ Thanks
Awesome shoe!
I bought these shoes to wear for grass volleyball and hiking. I needed superior traction and stability for playing on the wet grass. Having a water-proof upper is also a plus for when it rains. These runners have amazing traction and the heel cup fits like a glove. They also have excellent lateral support...my foot hasn't rolled over at all on uneven ground. I would highly recommend this model to anyone! I love these shoes!
Great traction
I tried out my new shoes on the trail and they seem great so far. They're just as comfortable as my old and crusty, trusty Air Pegasus', but with super traction to boot. They also work pretty well on my mountain bike as an alternative to wearing my clipless shoes, for when I just want to tool. Everyone seems to like the red ones, but I got the gray instead and they look sweet; much better in person than in the picture. I bought these shoes specifically for beating up and that's what I plan to do. I can't wait to do some scrambling in these!
Buy 'em!
I have relatively skinny feet and always prefer Nike shoes, but these are by far the best fitting pair I have bought from them. Super lightweight, yet very rugged construction. And can anyone deny that Gore-Tex knows what they're doing? Very breathable and fit like a glove. Superior traction underneath, as well. Ergonomic tongue fits perfectly around the top of my foot at the ankle. Highly recommend dropping the cash for this pair!
Tough and yet so comfy.
These are the best running shoes that I've had in a long, long time. Lots of support around the top of my foot and just the right amount of cushion underneath. I haven't run with them in the rain yet but I have run with them on many hot days and I can tell you that they breath very well - and they can take a real beating. Very happy with this purchase. (By the way, I normally wear a 9.5 in most shoes and these 9.5 fit perfectly.)
Excellent shoes
Let me spell it out: E X C E L L E N T.
I took my pair for a spin today for the first time. I run in the mountains and needed something like this for a long time. I tried Adidas Supernova Trail at fist, but could not stand their foot control sole. It is a good shoe, but it was too hard on my arch and went back to the store. Nike Teocalli XCR is excellent; the comfort, traction, cushioning, everything. And it is all conditions shoe! The red color is awesome. It is like a sports car with traction of a tank. Buy it! Leave another pair for me.
Awesome, Perfect, Yes
These shoes are perfect. Fit awesome and feel GREAT! I wore them to the gym at first, just to break them in a little...but they didn't seem to need that. The next time I was running in the Canyon. Feel awesome while riding my Mtn Bike. Dry, Dry, Dry...and plenty of air to breath. I think you should opt for the Red/Black. 5 stars all the way!
These feel just as good as my North Face!
Genuine Traction
First couple times I wore these shoes was trail running on ice and snow. I was amazed at how they gripped every surface - I felt like I was running in four-wheel-drive! They have since shown excellent performance on all types of trail and off-trail conditions. My feet feel well-protected, also. I don't worry about my feet with these shoes, I can just run! A+ in my book.
Awesome
These shoes are the best. I live in the mtns so im always running around. I've never felt such cushion on my soles. Thank you Nike for making my dreams come true
awesome shoes
These shoes kick ass! The Gore-Tex is super water-proof while the shoe remains quite breathable. Good support and they keep your feet nice and toasty! The all grey version is kinda dull, opt. for the red!
above average
Very rugged, durable trail runners that live up to their waterproof claims. Only criticism would be that they are a little hard and clunky on impact with the ground and wear out my feet. I would not use them for a long mountain race. A strong and stable trainer though.
good off road shoe
good shoe that could be great if they updateed the tongue with stretch gore to reduce fabric there. does not belong anywhere near concrete. very stable on wet roots and rocks. very waterproof not particularly breathable. overall worth the money. all consider the montrails.
not bad, but could have better ankle protection
The stability of the shoes could be better, I miss the same kind of ankle grip that I like about Asics. Apart from that, it's a good shoe, gore tex rocks.
Excellent Comfort
Just took them rainforest hiking in Puerto Rico. These shoes are incredibly comfortable and kept my feet dry in soaking wet rain. They are also just as comfortable in the gym as they are on the trail. They are a bit narrow and little shaky on wet rock, but on the whole I really love these shoes.
