So Far so Good!
I received my pair of Air Tumalo 11's just a couple of weeks ago. I wore them around the office and at home for a couple of days. At first they felt a little stiff but broke in quickly. On the first weekend they treated my feet just fine on a 10 mile day hike. I'll report further impressions later.

Nike Air Tumalo II
These boots are simply awesome! Light weight and great fitting just allow some break in time before heading out on a 3 day hike. The Grip just sticks to every thing and makes your footing feel so secure. Lacing them up is easy and allows you to get that exact fit your looking for. I will deffiently be buying another pair of these boots; one pair for hiking and another for every day use.

Nothing Compares!
I bought my first pair for work (I am a FedEx Driver) after twisting my ankle and liked them so much better than any other shoes I've had in my 7 years on the job! I am on my 4th pair of these boots, which might seem high, but they are worn 10+ hours a day 5 days a week! I wear them all day and on the weekends for hiking. They keep me dry thru rain storms and creeks, withstand coming out of my truck 90+ time a day, and still get me thru Talladega National Park!! Best buy!! Fit true to my size.

Awesome gore tex hiker
I really like these boots. I'm not sure about the advice to order a size down, maybe a half size if they have them. They do run just a bit larger than some of the other manufacturers. Real stable, and stiff enough for moderate loads over uneven terrain.

AWESOME BOOT!!
This is the second pair of Air Tumalo's I have purchased and I would not think of buying any other make of boot. They are extremely comfortable & they are built to last. The first pair I purchased I am still using, I only bought a new pair to have some that were clean & presentable for work, (I have had them for 15 months). I have worn other boots, but none as comfortable or long lasting as these, and I am very hard on my footwear.

This is a great boot!!
I purchased this boot because of the claims of being lightweight, cushioned, supportive and waterproof. It has lived up to these claims and more. While they were typically stiff at first, the break-in period was very short and they molded to my feet rapidly. The support is great. After a trip up Mt. Whitney you can barely tell they have been worn.

Great hikers
I purchased these hikers in my normal size and they fit perfect. There is one review that says to purchase them a size smaller but I don't feel that is the case, nor does it really make any sense. I asked a few Tree Planter friends and some guides and they all said make sure whatever hiker you buy has the Vibram sole. That coupled with the air pads in the boot make it extremely comfortable. Although they are gore tex I would also suggest adding a couple coats of protector to ensure a good long lasting seal. Basically I look at it like this: Nike made its millions designing, building and selling shoes. They've been doing it right for years otherwise they wouldn't be in this business anymore. Be it at retail price or the discounted price they are at now, you cannot go wrong.

good dry boots
There is no breaking them in they come like that out of the box.They keep my feet dry when walking in water and they are light for the amount of ankle support they give. I have worn them for 2 weeks and they are great down here in rugged Arizona.They have great traction

Best Hiker's Ever
Great Hiker, and an even better everyday boot. Truly the most comfortable everyday boot I have ever worn. Follow the advice about ordering a size smaller than you normally buy for best experience. I wholeheartedly recommend these boots! They have kept me very warm and dry this winter.

Excellent
I'm 6'2" , 190lbs, size 14 foot. I don't necessarily do a lot of hiking but wanted a good solid supportive sneaker like boot for all around outdoor use. I had a pair of ACG running sneakers that I liked so I thought this boot would be good too. I'm very happy with this Nike Tumalo 2. It has a much more rigid sole than a sneaker but thats good.

Fantastic
I have literally wore out at least 30 Pair of cheep Hiking boots I am so impressed with this pair of boots It’s like they did NOT need to be broken in The day after I got then I took them on a 8 hour 1700 foot Hike. No blisters Excellent support and Very comfortable. You can bet if this pair of boots ever wears out I will be back for another pair.

Better than Original Model
The Tumalo II is better than the I. Nike did away with the 3rd, lowest lace clip where the lace would unshackle all the time. It is replaced by a nylon lace holder. Like the Tumalo I, it has the broken-in feel the first time you put them on. Hopefully the Tumalo II leather will not separate from the rubber sole at the big toe area as happened on my Tumalo I's. Both offer great support and breathe. I've jogged on rocky beaches with them, where sprained ankles would be the norm with running shoes, and they felt great.

These boots are very comfortable, with a quick break-in. Out of the box, I did a very comfortable 6 mile hike. They seem to be wearing very well. A nice mix of light weight and durability, although the sole is a bit stiffer than I prefer.

Nice boot, difficult fit for my unique 9 1/2 D right foot...
I'm having a quite difficult time with proper sizing. I'm a 9 1/2 D, but the right boot is too tight, and the boots seem to be sized for a slightly narrower foot. My right foot is larger in volume, though not in length. I've tried the 10, also, and have the same problem with narrow fit. They seem to be sized for a lower profile foot and instep than mine. Also, I find the shoe laces provided with the boots to be too short. But this is a natural consequence of the fit observations mentioned above. Perhaps, if I try a 10 1/2, it might work, but I am dubious. Feet are as unique as individuals, and this is a problem I have encountered with various other manufacturers. I take a 9 D in a Zamberlan Cervino boot (excellent fit and comfort), and a 10 E in a Vasque (The Apex, also a wonderfully comfortable boot.), though a 9 1/2 D in the Vasque might have worked had it been available. The boots themselves seem to be of high quality, and I like the Vibram soles, in particular, very much. My advice, order at least one half size up and down from your normal size (as well as your normal size), and pay particular attention to the width of your fit. I'm confused, as both the 9 1/2 and the 10 are comfortable in ways that seem appropriate, while also suffering from the narrowness of fit problems I have mentioned. I believe these boots are best for those with a lower profile foot, though other variables may apply. Nice boots if you can size them right.

Well fitting boot for normal widths
I can't tell much difference between the Tumalo II and the original. The fit is good, with the ability to contour nicely with the lacing system. Good grip soles for the trail.

Good Shoe
This is a comfortable and well built hiking shoe. Altrec is so easy to work with. We had a problem with the Wallowa II (Junk). Altrec took them back and sent the Tumalo II (no questions asked). This shoe is a little heavy and pricey but seems to be worth the money.

The boots are lightweight, comfortable and provide good ankle support for 40 pound pack load. BUT the soles wear out quickly. I only got about 120 miles from a pair before the soles wore out.

Comfortable
Very comfortable right out of the box. After a few miles of break-in I put them to the test with a 20 mile hike, 4000ft elevation gain/loss and a 40 pound pack. They performed very well. The only thing I would improve on is the lacing system. It's a little difficult to get a tight lace up.

Sole is awful
I have been tracking for 30 years in Peru, a country that is characterized for having most of the ecosystems of the world. As you can imagine I’ve used all kinds of shoes and boots. I bought Air Tumala I last year. They are light and comfortable. But that is all to it. They are the worst shoe I have ever had. After the second tracking the shoe had a cut in its leather side made by a stone and the sole shown signs of heavy brakeage. Air Tumala II , for what I have seen in the photograph, has the same sole as the previous model. This boots are bad designed: the leather is to thin, the sole to weak. I will never buy Nike again.
