Great boots!
The best boot I have ever owned. It's warm, lightweight and very comfortable. I used it as a winter boot and my feet were toasty warm. During the summer I wore them on my fishing trips and my feet never got wet. I would highly recomend them.

the nike are great hiking boots
I didn't expect the nike acg to be as great as they are. I know the advertisment said you don't need to break in the boots but since I have been wearing them for about 3 weeks my feet haven't felt this good in a long time.

Great Hikking Stuff
Few boots offer quality, durability, perfomance and cost. Their outsole shape works perfect on tough terrain, stabilty on slopes and great traction on uphill hikes.

The best Hiking boots around!
These boots are awesome. This is actually the second pair of Nike Air Tumalo's I have purchased. I purchased one pair last year, although they were quite pricey. I needed a decent hiking boot for all the running around that I do. I don't do much hiking, just looking for a great boot, for running around the city. I work as a firefighter so something that is comfortable on my feet during an off day is a must. I also needed something that could handle all the running around I do, during a normal week outside of work, and would last more than just a couple of months. I needed something with a good traction lug pattern, good support, lightweight, comfortable and waterproof. These boots do it all. The 1st pair I bought last fall around this time. I have worn them for an entire year. The laces are a bit stretched out, and some serious wear on the treads (there is still plenty for hiking or anything else), due to use but other than that, the boots provide the same comfort as when they were new, and still do a great job of keeping my feet dry. I bought a second pair when I found them on sale here on Altrec, and look forward to have another year of great comfort. As long as Nike keeps up the good work, I will be happy!

Great fitting and comfortable boot. Went on a short 10 mile hike the day I bought them and my feet were comfortable....will take them to my 22 day trek through Peru next week. Would reccomend to anyone

9 months old
A great boot right out of the box! Warm and waterproof with full support, I use it every day here in Alaska and after 9 months the stiching on the sides started to come apart and they lost the waterproofing ability, but with some hot glue and a little shoe oil it was as good as new, any other shoe would not have held up as long, I liked them so much I got another pair.

If they sound good, that's because they are!
Being a geology major, I am required to work in the field quite often. These boots hold up tremendously! Never have I put on boots and felt comfortable right away, until these. They have great support; they don't tip over easily on their sides, which is a plus when on steep rocky terrain. If you have any doubts about the quality and feel, try them! I called in with a question about two weeks ago, and Altrec said they would pay for the shipping back and give me a full refund if I so chose to. Great company, great boots. A+!!

Great pair of shoes
I am living in Iceland and needed a good pair of shoes. These shoes are great for the rugged terrain Iceland has to offer. I hiked all over some glaciers and had no compalints about these shoes. Everyone else was complaining that their shoes weren't holding up. I didn't slip, get wet or have any blisters at the end of hiking for 3 days.

So far, so good...
I've had these boots for a couple of weeks now, and have worn them almost every day and in differing conditions. They were comfortable out of the box, and have stayed that way. Even though not broken in, I've worn them during a couple of days of airline travel, a day at Disney World, and for a site walk through snow-covered, wooded property. They have performed very well so far. I haven't yet tested them on a longer hike, but I have reason to be optimistic. Altrec is the best online vendor out there, period.

Great Support and Lightweight
I'm very please with ACG Air Tumalo. I just did some desert hiking this past weekend, and had great support, great grip on the rocks, and overall lightweight. I even tested the Gore-Tex by submerging my foot in the pool for about 30 seconds, with absolutely no problems! I think this is a great overall hiking boot for many occasions, and should last many years with those great soles!

Great Ankle Support
This shoe cost more than I was wanting to pay but as it turns out it is well worth the money. It has very rigid ankle support. I have been on a 17 mile hike with them and they are still not fully broken in. Still very stiff up around the ankles. The vibram sole is great. Definitely would purchase these again.

A Great Boot for Women
Having been a Nike and ACG fan since high school, I had high expectations for this boot, even though there are numerous light hikers on the market. This boot did not fail. On a recent hike up Mount Quandary in Colorado, I had to deal with mud and a lot of snow that I had to posthole. At the end of the day, my feet were dry, and my hiking partners feet were wet even with gaiters on. The ankle support and stability were wonderful. If you are a woman who needs a wider boot than most women's boots offer, try the Air Tumalo.

Simply The Best!
I've owned my nike ACG Tumalo boots for almost a year now and I've done everything in them from cavern exploring 200 feet underground to pounding the pavement on mean streets of New York. I have flat feet and it's hard for me to find a good pair of boot/shoes but this boot is the best boot I've ever worn. Really constructed well!

Truly an All Conditions Boot
I wear this boot as a work boot, in my line of work I can be in literally any environment fomr one day to the next. This boot has never let me down, even mountain bikeing in it a few times. Teamed with the right Smartwool sock for the climate or activity level my feet have never been happier. The only thing I recomend is to put a bead of seam grip at the joint between the sole and upper. I haven;t had any problems yet but there are a few spots that I can tell will give me hassle later. Overall a great boot that can handle whatever you throw at it.

great for everyday use
I wear these shoes EVERYDAY for work. The shoes are light,and definitely waterproof. I really needed a little more arch support but the ankle support is good.

Nice boots
They lace up snugly around my low-volume foot (which is rare for all leather hiking boots). Great traction on the loose stuff and trails. The sole is not too flexible, not too stiff. I haven't tried it yet, but they feel supportive enough to wear backpacking (I've worn much less supportive boots than these with large loads on my back). These are great all-around boots. They even work well for keeping your feet happy while hauling shingles up a ladder or mowing your grass!

Almost Perfect...
I'm new to climbing/hiking, but I wanted to maximize the chances of having enjoyable experiences by getting high quality footwear. As far as comfort goes, I give the boot the highest marks. The fit was optimal and my tootsies were warm and dry for my entire excursion (which saw all possible weather conditions...) All portions of the boots held up well with the marked exception of the treads. On both soles, dime and nickel-sized sections broke away from the boot, exposing the shank underneath. NOT what I expected from the top-of-the-line high performance ACG boot.

some quality control problem
Ordering and Shipping experience was very good. On first hike, found out the left boot had something just above the heel hard that rubbed on back of heel about 1 inch up from the sole, causing blister. Very subtle blem in the shape and finish of left boot made it uncomfortable right off. The boot heel area is supported by an inflexible rubber piece, not leather, and probably will not break-in with additional use. Could be this is just faulty boot out of thousands. Noted that boot is made in China (like most consumer stuff these days). Also, I ordered size 10, based on good fit of an older pair of Nike hikers and Nike running shoes, but the size of these Air Tumolos appears to be about 1/2 size larger than I expected. Maybe they are sized to allow for very thick boot socks. I would like to keep the boots if only the left heel was proper, but will instead be sending them back for refund.

Good footwear, if it is for you
This hiking shoe is made of a high-quality materials, and looks very good. The only problem with it; if you don't get used to flat-bed type of shoe, then you have a problem. I had it on me for 6 hours, walking slow, and my right leg hurted me so bad for two days. I got used to Merrell type of shoe, so I think that was a bad experience for me. If you felt any uncomfort in your ankle, then this shoe is not for you. Trust me, you will hurt over long hikes. But, if you felt comfort, and relaxed in it...then it is for you.
