Versatile shoe, good cushioning, great on road or trail
This shoe is a little heavier than the standard Pegasus, but it is more stable and has protection from stones in the midsole The waffle outsole design is more aggressive and is great on all surfaces. The upper is also more durable. I like the feel of the shoe. it takes a couple runs to break in the sock liners, which mold to your foot shape. The shoe upper is well designed and does not pinch your toes or forefoot. Good for casual wear too.

Great Shoes!
I liked my first pair so much, I bought another pair for when my first pair go out on me. Very comfortable right out of the box. The mesh upper is nice and breathable. Good grip on the trail. I've got about 100 miles into my first pair and they're holding up quite well.

Excellent...
Pegasus is the Nike classic running shoe and this Trail version is excellent.Not for wide feet. I have run 50 plus miles in them and they are firm without being brutally hard like other trail shoes. Fit is true.I but a half size larger than shoe size. Grip is very good as well.

unfortunately nike often has a habit of doing away with shoe models we love...and that was the case with the kyotee 2...that offered my tall 180lb back disc-sensitive body the cushioning i needed and the protection against air bladder poppage that unfortunately i experienced on the 360...i was frantic and even bought a pair of brooks glycerins, the so-called premiere cushioning shoe...i found the brooks very cushioning, but lacking the resilience and return of energy i was used to in nike air, which i had used for many years...what was i to do...i had been afraid to try the pegasus, even the trail, as it looked as if the air bladder came right to the sole surface in the middle of the heel...however, when informed by a nike employee that this plastic bubble did not go direct to the bladder, and the air bladder was in fact further recessed, deep enough into the shoe to resist 1/8" burr spikes, i bought the shoe...must say i'm glad the demise of the kyotee 2 has brought me to the pegasus trail...it is everything the kyotee had been, but with a bit more cushioning feel that is very deeply appreciated by me...i tried on both the pegasus 2007 and the trail version, told by nike that the trail has a bit of a waffle sole and slightly stronger upper fabric for the trail...it also had a nicer darker colour (yes nike, your customers prefer darker colours, preferrably black so we can wear them after we're done running in them)...i tried both trail and non-trail and found no weight difference, and actually more of a springy quality that my kyotee 2 had exhibited...the nike guy said nike may have put a bit more foam in the shoe for the trail...well, it made it even more cushioney...and the specs say there is no weight difference...bottom line, the best cushioning shoe (i'm tall, 180lbs of mostly lean muscle, and need cushioning otherwise a surgeon told me i'd need back surgery if i continue to run) i've run in regarding all brands (tried the reebok hex, brooks adrenaline, asics, saucony)...and, for my tastes, the best cushioning shoe nike makes...except perhaps for the 360, but the 360 does not have the sole to protect against burrs on the sidewalk, or other such minor outdoor poppage liabilities...i know, i popped 2 pairs before going for the kyotee top shoe for cushioning, thanks nike...just doN'TTTTT discontinue this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good cushion with just a small amount of support.
Not as cushy and not as much arch support as the regular Air Pegasus, but in general a nice feeling shoe. I put some insoles with higher arch support, and run for about 5 miles. Next time I try them on... what a difference!, they felt so much better...so, don´t judege them too soon before you brake them in. Adidas shoes fit my feet better, this nikes are a little bit more roomier than I need.

Good cushion, stability & traction.
Went to these from a regular size 12 Pegasus. Needed 12.5 as toe box is more pointed also for downhill. Like them better than anything else.

I bought the red, black metalic silver one pair. Cool design but roomier than expected,and very nice grip on or off road.

Roomier than expected.
These are higher volume than most Nike running shoes, like the Air Assail IV. Like a previous reviewer, I added a thicker insole with much better arch support. Very open mesh keeps feet cool. Excellent traction.

This shoe was comfortable right away. Took it out on the trails and I've had no problems. These also breathe very well, although maybe too much for the wet weather (we'll see when the time comes). I also use this shoe with the Nike+ iPod accessory to track my runs and that is an added bonus to this shoe.
