Good for Boat Covers
I use this coating on my boat cover on my trailered boat. 1L of solution is good for one application and lasts me a whole season in the Maryland: snow, ice, rain, sun, wind, etc. A good boat cover is essential to keeping my boat in good condition and protected from the elements, and since my cover is rather expensive as well this product is an easy way for me to extend the life and usefulness of the cover. I use the spray bottle from my original purchase of Nikwax and just refill it with a 1L bottle to save some money.
Great product. Would definitely recommend.

Nikwax Solar & Waterproof Tent & Gear Protector
I have already sprayed down my new tent with this UV/Water proofer with the Nikwax 10 oz bottle. It says the 10 oz bottle will be enough for a 2 person tent; however, I was able to spray down my 67 liter backpack and 25 liter daypacks too. This stuff goes a long way once you wipe the gear/tent down after you've sprayed it. I almost went through a whole paper towel roll wiping my tent down so don't go crazy and empty the bottle on your tent trying to spray and saturate every single little spot. You'll get plenty of coverage when you wipe it down. I have not used my tent and gear in the outdoors yet since spraying it down, but I purchased this product because of all the other high quality reviews it received on here. Will be spending a week in the backcountry of Grand Canyon this July and will be putting it to the test!

It works!
Buy extra because it goes fast. Using on a wet tent and then letting dry seemed to give better coverage. I still used slightly more than recommended.
From the bottle - recommended coverage
10 fluid oz for 2 person tent
17 fluid oz for 3-4 person tent
35 fluid oz for family (5-8) person tent
88 fluid oz for large family (9-16) person tent
Water beads up and doesn't soak into tent. It works.

Great stuff
There's a reason this stuff gets good reviews - it's easy and it works. The 1L (or 33 oz, whatever) size adequately covered my large tent (like 9'x9'), the fly for that tent, and my 15'x15' 5-sided shade-tent/canopy, with a little left over. Might be enough left to cover my backpacking tent too, but I haven't tried yet.
One downside, this size doesn't come with a spray nozzle (not sure why), but just get separate spray bottle - you probably have one laying around somewhere anyways.
No more leaks!

Waterproofing two tents
I purchased the Nikwax Tent and Gear Waterproofing after researching tent waterproofing online. The Nikwax was very easy to use, I like the fact that it's a water-based product. I was able to set my tents up inside the house and treat them inside since I have plenty of extra space. I was able to treat a new Marmot 3-person tent and a well-used REI 2-person tent with a 32 oz. bottle. I used several coats on the REI tent since it's 12 years old. I took the Marmot out last weekend, it didn't rain, but I am sure the waterproofing will get tested in the near future.

Helped water proof my tent but not my pack.
Got caught in rain early in the day, steady but not hard rain, and my pack was wet inside in no time flat. By the end of the day I had water pooled up in the bottom of my pack. It worked fine on my tent although my tent was wet inside my pack when I got it out Got my tent set up in the rain, and I wiped the inside of the tent dry with a camp towel and hoped for a dry night.Inside the tent stayed dry all night long with only a couple of drips at the zipper of the rain fly in the morning. I'm not sure that this may have been the right product for using to waterproof my pack. Next time I'll try one of the other products and test it at home before I hit the trail and find out the hard way if it going to work as expected or not.

Works great
Purchased the 500ml bottle to weatherproof a one man tent fly. I applied two coats and used 3/4 of the bottle. Easy to apply and works great. Eliminated the fly from wetting through to the tent fabric.

Revived Troops Aging Tents
Our Boy Scout troop purchased this product to water proof our aging Eureka tents. The tents soaked up the sealer. Two days later at camp it rained. Sealer definitely was working. We did use slightly more that nikwax indicated we would need per tent. Product worked as advertised!

bought the 500ml bottle for weatherproofing a canopy cover on the patio 10 ft x 10 ft. I wish I had bought a larger bottle. Still it worked great . Easy to use and effective at keeping us and our chairs dry. Thanks, Fast shipping too!

Highly recommended for Tents!
Three weeks ago, I purchased a brand new Coleman Kohna 8 Tent. Having gotten extremely tired of numerous nylon tents degrading and eventually shredded by UV and a slight breeze, I wanted to protect this one. I Googled and found this product here on Altrec. With it being an 8 person Tent, I ordered 2 500 Ml bottles of it. All I was really interested in was the UV Protection. As any good owner of a new tent, I set it up and seam sealed it. (All new tents need to be seam sealed.) I figured I'd leave it up until the Nikwax Tent and Gear Proof got here. It turned out to be a very rainy week. In that rainy week, I learned that the tent's waterproofing wasn't all that great. The seams were watertight but the fabric wasn't. It didn't exactly leak but it did soak through in places making the fabric darker where water had soaked in and small rivlets of water ran along it inside. The Nikwax arrived and the weather broke. I followed the directions on the bottle and treated all of the exposed areas of the tent and let it dry. The next day it poured out. And the day after that. And the day after that. And a driving, heavy, windblown rain came down the day after that! The tent was bone dry inside with no indication of water infiltration into the fabric whatsoever. If that isn't a test I don't know what is. If the UV protection is as good as the Water protection, I'm going to be a VERY happy camper. Literally. Nope, the stuff ain't cheap but if you value your gear and a nice, comfortable, dry place to stay in the Outdoors, my opinion is that it's worth every penny for old or new gear. I wish I'd found this stuff years ago! On a side note, Coleman obviously ain't what it used to be. There's just a bit of sadness to be had there.

another great product from nikwax
This stuff works great, just like all the products I have purchased so far from nikwax. I use this product on a variety of camping gear, and it has replenished the water barrier successfully on each and every one of those items.

Great Product
I've been using this product for the past four years, for my 20+ old boat canvas. I was looking for something to stop water from coming through my old canvas, you can actually see light through. I found Nikwax through a google search thought I give it a try, now I use it every year with great results. Boat canvas is a very expensive option, it will help sell the boat but adds nothing to the resale value. Nikwax has prolong the life of my canvas the water runs off not through, and saved me alot of money. It makes me want to use this old saying "like water off a ducks back"
