i use this to wash my jackets and i'm happily to report that my jackets are water resistant. pretty neat stuffs
Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Cons: CostMust-have for Waterproofing

I have both the Tech wash and this and I always use them together for my ski clothes. I find this more convenient than the sprays because you can just let the washing machine do the job. However, under the recommended amount to use for each garment, I go through this bottle faster than the Tech Wash but I am not about to skimp on waterproofing. So, it's worth it.

The best waterproof product out there

If you are looking for making a jacket TOTAL waterproof this is the product. My husband had a CHEAP nylon jacket and used TX Direct wash in and he put the jacket under running water and was able to make it look like he had a bowl in the jacket....This is the best product out there...My husband uses this on anything he wants to make waterproof...Oh yes he even spray's the kids boots for the winter months.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueFebruary 15, 2013
I use this and the techwash to keep my ski and rain jackets waterproof. I have been using it for years and never had any issues. As soon as I use this, my jackets get that nice water beading so you know its working immediately.
Pros: Lasts forever, Ease of useGood

Smelly and just ok

I really expected a lot of "bead up" on my old cloudveil hardshell after washing it with this product. It didn't happen. I think it stayed pretty waterproof, but I think it is just the membrane doing its job, not the wash in product. Regardless, it smelled pretty bad so look out!
Pros: Ease of use, Cons: Low performanceGreat Product!

Works great! I used it to rejuvenate my waterproof hiking clothes. Everything now beads up nicely and I am once again dry after hiking in the rain.
stayed dry

I purchased this and used it on my rain gear some time ago and hadn't used the rain gear until recently. The gear performed great. We had a rain/snow mix coming down pretty heavy at times and it all just beaded and rolled off! Great stuff. I use it on all my jackets.
Pros: Performance, Ease of useGood way to extend life of pricey waterproof gear

We have been using this product for several years to re-waterproof our goretex and e-vent ski gear. It puts a nice bead back into the water repellency for fabric that is not totally gone. For instance, I have a 4 year old Arcteryx shell and treated it last winter and the results were great. However, my 8 year old goretex ski pants, not so much. the only reason i would not give this product 5 stars is because some people say that it may impede the breathability of the clothing. I have not personally found this to be the case and would rather something be waterproof but breathable, but before you use it on your expensive jacket you may want to read up a little more. Those who worry about breathability recommend washing the jacket or pants with woolite and while damp using an warm iron on the garment to reactivate and re-distribute the existing water repellent treatment. In any case, I have had good success skipping right to the tx direct product.
Pros: save money, Cons: breathability impacts?Product works great

One treatment lasts all year on my Gore-Tex parka and rain gear. It also works well on a Gore-Tex drytop I wear to kayak whitewater. I kayak year round and usually treat the dry top twice each year.
