Description

Aqueous Wax Leather Waterproofing is a brush-on water-based treatment ideal for footwear that is subjected to wet and abrasive conditions. In addition to waterproofing, the application keeps boots cleaner and maintains the leather's suppleness for improved durability. Conveniently, Aqueous Wax can be applied to wet or dry boots. It may darken leather and wax down the texture of nubuck and suede leathers.

Best waterproofer I've used
November 01, 2006

I've used this stuff for years on all my leather hiking boots. It's dead waterproof, easy to apply, and lasts a long time. I recently used it on my Nubuck Asolo's, and it works just as well on Nubuck as on smooth leather (even though the directions say not to apply it to Nubuck). I had tried Granger's G-tec (silicone-based) on these boots previously, but was not impressed at all. Nikwax is the only leather waterproofer worth considering.

solid product

The applicator is cheapish, but the product itself works well and definitely protects surfaces from weather & wear.

It works!
November 13, 2010

I use it on my Sidi motorcycle boots. It is easy to apply and will buff to a decent shine. It is a bit thin, so be prepared for a little run-off if you get heavy handed with the applicator.

Pros: Performance

good wax
June 26, 2005

I used it on Merrell Switchback Gortex boots($150) boots I just bought. It does work just like the reviewers said. You can't notice too much when you put it on, but after drying it and buffing it, you can tell the difference. The only negative view is that the bottle has this flimsy applicator built in. I rather use soft cloth to apply the wax.

This is Great!
May 29, 2006

This does a great job of keeping boots waterproof. It imparts a beautiful waxy finish to the leather, and seems to last longer than silicone spray-on waterproofing compounds. Great Stuff!

Best Waterproofing For Your Leather Boots
September 16, 2006

I have used this on my Asolo hiking boots ($200) from the day I got them 2 years ago. Nothing is better to keep you dry and protect your boots. The key is to put it on thick and let them dry before use.

Outstanding Product

After cleaning my motorcycle boots as directed, this product was easy to apply and the end result was as advertized. A great looking, waterproofed leather surface. Would buy again. Highly recommended.

The Best Boot Wax On Earth!!!

I change the water lines on the farm all summer and now that I use this stuff on my leather boots, the only thing I use my rubber boots for is the deep water!!!

does what it says
January 10, 2011

seems most high end bootmakers are not recommending oily, either animal or petroleum, waterproofing products. if this is your case, this is the product to use.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use

good wax
November 25, 2009

Seems to work well, applicator is a bit of a pain. I have Scarpa leather hiking boots; I use Nikwax because the Scarpa stuff they recommend isn't sold in the U.S.; at least, not that I can find. Haven't had the opportunity to test out the water-resistance yet.

Easy to apply
December 29, 2003

The wax was very easy to apply to my boots. I am unable to give a fair review of this product because I just bought it and I have not had a chance to use my boots yet. I wear them for hunting and hunting season is over.

Always great!!!!

I have used Nikwax about 3 or 4 years. I Use the black on the seats, tool bag, & saddle bags of my motorcycle. It renews the black, conditions & waterproofs it all. also use on my boots & leather gloves. easy to apply, gives a nice shine with some buffing.

Nixwax The Best !!
February 03, 2005

I have used Nixwax for at least the last four years . I own a pair of expensive soft leather boots. By Red Wing, they are gortex & 1.000 grams thinsulate. The nixwax has protected the leather, they are 4 or 5 years old & look like new. I use them for hunting, snow shoeing. Well to some it up I sware by this product. And will use it for years to come. I too have told many friends about nik. They have trued it & now that is all they use on ther good boots. unlike mink oils that soften the leather. NIXWAX is Great stuff.
