Perfect For Wool
I bought this because I recently purchased some Merino Wool items and did not want to use any harsh chemical products on them and this works in top loading washers. I've only used it once but the results were fantastic. After the wash the fabrics felt better than when they were first purchased and the wicking properties are still intact. However there are two complaints. The first is that the instructions on the bottle suggest normal or warm temperature when washing though the wool items suggest cold water (I just used cold). The second is the scent of the detergent. For me personally it did not give off a pleasent scent, it almost smelled like the medicinal shampoo I used to use when washing my dog and the scent kind of lingers on the fabric. Other reviewers didn't seem to mind the scent so it is up to personal preference I guess. Overall though I think this is a good product for washing wool items with.

Works Great
Label recommended product for cleaning newly purchased wool sweater. I was happy to see that I would be able to use in my top loading washing machine. Worked very well. I would buy product again.

Worth the $$
I was a little skeptical about plunking out the change for such a small bottle, but curiosity got the better of me so I gave it "The Pepsi Challenge" (probably dating myself that line). Anyhoo, I wear a ton of merino since I spend a good chunk of my day working outside on a flight line in all sorts of weather in sunny (it's not) Everett, WA. I was amazed how after one wash, my base layers were softer than ever, socks came back to life, and the sweaters felt/looked awesome. Everything was super soft and smelled great. I'd left a couple of items out just to compare results and instantly wished that I'd thrown them all in the wash. The bottle is certainly not the large oil drums we are used to when buying laundry detergent, so I'll be washing the merino w/ this magic potion every three washes or so, but it's well worth the money if you wear wool every day or simply like your merino softer than cotton.

Best way to keep wool gear fresh
I have become a big believer in wool as the best base layer a while ago and even though wool does't have the same "scent" issues as polypropylene, this is by far the best way to keep the gear clean and fresh smelling. Only advice is to stick to the dosing advice, otherwise it can get quite strong.

Excellent
This is an excellent product. It cleans well and is more gentle than detergents. I use it for sweaters and for merino wool garments that require hand washing.

An excellent Nikwax product
Nikwax makes good products. I use their waterproofing paste on my hiking boots. Now I use Wool Wash for all of my sweaters. It cleans well and does not have an offensive scent. It leaves sweaters looking as close to new as one could hope! I recommend this item and all of Nikwax products.

great product, just as advised
This a very good product. My wool baselayers are like new and feel very soft and not itchy at all. does not leave any residue that I sometimes find after a regular detergent.

Great stuff!
This isn't your mom's Woolite - this stuff is better! The Wash makes my merino wool wick moisture even better than it did before - and takes out odors while doing it! I found that I stay drier (and more comfortable) when hiking; a plus when its cold out and I'm miles from anywhere!
