Excellent paddling gloves, dry or wet.
August 15, 2010
I used these gloves paddling an inflatable kayak on a Snake River six day trip. The are comfortable dry or wet, good blister prevention, leaving you full dexterity with the ends of your fingers. Easy enough to take off, even when wet. Good gloves!

Love the gloves. My hands do not get hot when I wear them kayaking, and they keep the paddle from rubbing on my thumbs.
good gloves

These are good for avoiding blisters, but not for keeping warm. They are great for summer and fall paddles when the water temps are higher. They seem very durable and will likely last for quite a while.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat warm-water gloves

I keep my pair in the pocket of my PFD so that I never forget them when I go kayaking. They're comfortable to wear, light weight, and provide a great grip on the paddle.
cool gloves

Man, I love these gloves. I paddled for years without gloves. This year for the frist time I broke down and bought the paddling gloves 3/4 finger. I love the protection and the dexterity, and they are comfortable, and I think they help me grip the paddles better. From now on I will always use this glove on the water. No more blisters!

These light-weight gloves protect my hands from blisters while paddling yet are not too warm in the Arizona sun. Exactly what I was looking for.
Great !

Very comfortable and perfect for warm water kayaking in Florida. Excellent service from Altrec as well.

I bought my first pair of these gloves over 5 years ago. In puchasing my second pair I noticed that the metal guide has been removed and the fit with the velcro strap is still excellent. They size out very accurately and I look forward to a lot of paddling from this pair as well. a great product.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of usePerfect warm weather glove

A great lightweigh glove with enough padding to keep the blisters away. Fitting was right on according to size chart for myself and my wife.
Very comfortable for warm water.

Gloves are very comfortable and having your fingers free avoids the nuisance of taking the gloves off to perform tasks that need ungloved fingers. Size chart was misleading, I took a size smaller than chart recommended since I don't like baggy gloves.
We exchanged both pairs for the next smaller sizes.

The gloves are lightweight and touted as universal so they can be used for paddling, rowing or even biking although I question the padding location for Kayak paddling. Ordered the gloves for both my wife and myself according to the size chart. The gloves fit OK although they were somewhat loose so we exchanged both pairs for the next smaller sizes which fit perfectly.
The standard

I've used these gloves for 8 years and wear them every time I go on multi-day 34-100 mile long raft trips 8 to 15 times a year to protect my hands and they are great. Every couple of years the glove style is modified, so far the changes have been improvements in convenience and function. I have not had a chance to use the newest version. I usually get 2-3+ seasons out of a pair. They provide minimal warmth, the fingered version of this glove is much warmer. I have difficulty wearing most other styles of gloves because my hands cramp or have no strength when I row because the gloves are too bulky or tight, not with these, even in class V rapids.

I am most pleased with these gloves. I needed something relatively light weight, durable, but thick enough to keep me from getting paddling blisters. They suit the bill perfectly!
Dads Christmas Gift

My father is an electrician with the title of Journeyman! He works outside all the time on signs and he also has Parkinsons so his right hand shakes alot when it is cold! I got these gloves they are a little thinner than I would have liked them to be but other reviews say they stay warm when they get wet so I felt they would be a nice gift since he work outside when it is raining as well! They are good because there are no fingertips and he can work with screws with his own fingers at the same time stay warm while he works!

I had mine for over 2 years and they are getting a little worn. I even use them at the gym, so I was them all the time. I'am looking to buy another for just paddling.

Not enough padding
July 05, 2005
Prior to purchasing these gloves specifically designed for paddling, I used bike gloves. I was very disappointed using the NRS paddling gloves as they didn't have enough padding and protection at the critical points. Suggest use of bike gloves for paddeling instead of these gloves.
Light & Comfortable.

OK for paddling

Got these for warm weather paddling. Comfort pretty good, but after long distances, very apparent that thumb is too short...BLISTERS! May be good for other marine tasks and short trips, but not for serious kayakers.
So far great!

I got these this summer and have used them several times. The materials are light and comfortable and they fit nicely. My one concern is that the seam along the thumb could cause problems on a longer trip. On the day paddles I've done so far they've been fine though.
So far so good

Nice fit, and they've already protected my hands from some pretty hairy scrapes, not to mention making paddling easier. Good grip and great customer service at NRS.
