Description

This cart is stout, sturdy, and ridiculously simple. The C-Tug Boat Cart supports 300 lbs. of weight and collapses to stow in a mid-sized kayak hold. Supports up to 300 lbs. Collapses quickly to stow in a mid-sized kayak hold. Seven simple components break apart and snap together with ease--no moving parts to corrode, rust, or gum up from sand. Thermo-bonded elastomeric seat pads stick tightly to boat hulls. Comes with a 2.4 meter (7.9 foot) strap for lashing your kayak to the cart. Stainless steel reinforced axles will take the weight and resist the corrosive marine environment. Wheels are 10" in diameter and longest part is 21" in length. Removable kickstand

Worthless - tires won't hold air
April 10, 2010

I've tried to use this 3 times, with at least a month between tries as I seldom need a cart like this. EVERY TIME the tires were flat. And, I had trouble refilling them. I'm giving up. This is extremely frustrating because I bought mine directly from the American distributor after complaining about tire problems with another brand. He assured me they had no similar problem. But C-Tug is worse. At least I could refill the others. C-tug has a short valve and a large wheel frame. The filler nozzle on my Black & Decker air pump will not go on the valve. The last time I went somewhere that had their own compressor and refilled the tires. They had a nozzle that would fit. A short time later - flat again. I don't know how these products work if used regularly or somewhere else. But, in Florida, if used once in a while, avoid this product like the plague.

Great kayak / canoe carrier
December 12, 2010

Exactly what it says it is. Light, compact, easy to assemble, disassemble, broad tyres, low centre of gravity. It works well. The only issues I have are (i) the valve stems - really hard to get at to attach a pump, and (ii) whatever it's made from it smells like crazy - definitely designed for use in fresh air.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use

Poor Quality Tubes
July 25, 2009

Love the design and the simple collapse and store feature. But the inner tubes both came with splits near the valve stem and can not be patched. It is almost impossible to find replacement tubes. If the tubes were not so easy to damage (most likely was split when inserting into tire at factory) this would have been a 5 star rating.

C-Tug is easy to use.

The cart was easy to assemble. We only used it once so far and it worked great. The only issue I have is with the price. Even though I think it's a good product, I believe it is overpriced.

C-Tug makes handling a tandem kayak easy for one person

Great cart! The kick stand broke with the first use. Great customer service. New kick stand being shipped out the same day I called. If they can improve the kick stand this would be an excellent product. Still would recommend to a friend.

Very cool

I know some folks have had trouble with these, but so far mine have been great. One wheel was flat(no air in it) when I got it, but a quick trip to the gas station(really recommend an air compressor for this), and a some holding the rim and the tire snug, and I was in business. Tubeless tires can be tricky at the beginning, but, with a little perseverance, are great. Why should I persevere with this price tag? Because my wife pushed her 16' kayak up a 2' sand embankment over exposed tree roots without my assistance with one of these. They're great.

Best cart but could be better
December 07, 2010

Great cart, it just has a few things that could be better. First off it works great. Able to haul a heavy loaded kayak over rough terrian. I used this cart on a trip to Europe with a feathercraft Java kayak. It was able to pack nice and travel well and with the many portages it worked well. The bad though was the tires. The tires literly after 2 months of use came apart. It also made a high pitched squiking sound if you rolled the wheel a certain way. Yes it worked well but I am not sure how long it will last

Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Wears quickly, Poor quality

Great cart, kick stand sucks!
August 06, 2010

I purchased the cart for a Walker Bay 8' dory, because the supports will conform to the hull shape, the problem is the kick stand will not stay ridged and the cast rolls away from the boat, I solved this by removing the stand and inserting a length of pipe in the hole and securing with a tie, now the cart will only tip 30 to 40 degrees and the pipe digs in to hold the cart still. The straps were too short for my application so I tie on two lengths of rope to each side and use a ratcheting tie down a cross the center. I am able to pull the loaded boat over rough ground.

Great way to carry a loaded kayak
December 05, 2010

The C-Tug boat cart is great for carrying a kayak full of gear for an all day trip on the water. You can put all your stuff in your kayak and make one trip from the car to the lake, river etc. The cart is really easy to put together and straps onto my kayak well. The cart doesn't pull off the kayak at all. The cart is also easy to take apart once you get the hang of it (use your knee to take apart the last two pieces. The C-Tug fits in my hatch just fine. The wheels needed pumping when it arrived in the mail, but I've had no troubles since then.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Great Customer Service
August 19, 2010

Had bought two C-TUG for my wife and I but had a problem with the tire. The distributor (ask for Peter) was fantastic. Immediately shipped me a new wheel that has given no trouble at all. He also gave us the information that we needed for the strapping. He explained that all wheels come from China (the rest of the cart is made in New Zealand) and while they try to eliminate the problem wheels a few get through. A tip he gave is never inflate above 20PSI - in Florida if you do the heat will increase the pressure another 10 PSI - but that is common sense.
