Popeye cuff?
May 17, 2011
Well, we're all different shapes. Me, fat in the middle, wrists and forearms avg to slim. I originally ordered the XXL (my usual) shirt, which no way I could squeeze into, so I returned it and ordered this jacket. I liked the idea of zip up instead of wrestle on anyway. Quality appears to be excellent. Only problem for me is while the torso fits fine, and the sleeves length is fine, I was disappointed to find the wrist openings so big that taking in lots of water will be unavoidable without some (probably) uncomfortable cinching down rubber bands, or with elastic or some such workaround. If it bugs me too much maybe I can get a zipper sewn on to take up the slack. I yam what I yam. YMMV
Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: floppy not snug at wristDid you recently buy the NRS 'Grizzle' HydroSkin Jacket? Write a review.
Great for Cold Weather Kayaking

Bought this a few months ago from Altrec to go with a Grizzly Farmer John and a Kokatat Paddle Jacket. Wanted a lighter weight than the standard 2mm Grizzly Jacket. Have been using it 3 to 4 times a week since in 40 - 45 degree water with air tempreatures between 40 and 50. Incredible flexibility so absolutely no issues paddling for hours with it. Took a swim this past weekend for 15 minutes in 42 degree water and was perfectly comfortable. I did not have the popeye cuff issue as did the previous reviewer: the cuff is admittedly a tad larger than my wrists (which are kind of on the small side) but that made it work perfectly with a pair of Neoprene paddling gloves. I normally wear XL or XXL (with everything being too long) and the Medium fit perfectly.
