Okay, don't even ask how I managed to do it, but I was in my Innova Safari on a white capped lake and lost my paddle. I needed to get back to shore ASAP because the sudden wind was causing a dangerous situation for kayaks and canoes. I had these paddle gloves caribinered to my kayak, so I grabbed 'em and had to work to get them on (they were a tight fit and I was feeling a bit of panic) and started paddling. They were surprisingly effective and kept my hands fairly warm too. They worked well as an emergency paddle system in the Safari because it's a narrow boat and you're sitting real close to the water's surface. I don't know how well they'd do in a wider boat or one in which you'e sitting higher up. But for my Innova inflateable, they were great. I got to shore safely and I can tell this story. Never saw that paddle I lost ever again though... the lake ate it. But the lake did not eat me... 8~)

Good for swim workout but definetly not for surfing

It is a great tool to increase your stamina and stroke power while swimming in a pool , but doesnt really work for surfing. The added resistance from the web link glove is far more than the added speed, too bad.
