An excellent choice!
October 26, 2009
My sons gave me a kayak for my 60th birthday and all I needed to get on the water was the paddle (already have a PFD). One of the boys suggested this NRS: PTR Kayak Paddle, and it's a beauty! Indestructible, lightweight, perfect size for me (I'm 6 ft., 193 lbs.), easy to maneuver and handle, and the way that the paddle heads are not perfectly symmetrical, they way they're designed to accommodate a slight twist in motion, means I don't have to twist the grip while paddling. PERFECT!!
Solid Paddle.

This paddle is being used for my first kayak. ALTREC helped me choose the correct size for the boat width and my height. It is solid and sturdy. It is a bit heavy compared to some > $100 paddles I have held, but for the price, I can overlook the weight.
Pros: Great valueDid you recently buy the NRS PTR Kayak Paddle? Write a review.

I bought this paddle for my boyfriend who is a beginner paddler. He's only used it once but it seems to be working out nicely. Very study compared to the aluminum shaft paddles.
Almost Bulletproof

I have used this paddle now for 6 months on a variety of rivers from Class I to Class III. It has performed well in high water rapids and going through low water/rocky areas. I am very pleased with the strength and durability of the paddle.
Excellent

I recently purchased two of these paddles for my 8 and 10 year old sons. I have been happy with the quality and durability of the paddles and they seem to work well for my sons. The only thing that I would say I don't like about them is that they allow more water to come down the shaft onto your legs then previous paddles I have used. But, overall they are a good purchase and my sons seem happy with them.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of useGood entry paddle.

Nice paddle for the money. Solid build, should last a long time. Wish it had some type of indexing on the shaft though.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: no shaft indexingWrite a review for the NRS PTR Kayak Paddle here.
Very Solid

Tried this paddle out on The New River. Grip is comfortable. Holds up very well, however, it is heavier than other paddles I've used. Nearly indestructible for beginners.
Cannot be beat for the price

I have used a PT paddle for three years and have not been gentle with it. The shaft has more dings and scars than my knuckles but it is still a solid paddle that I can leave at the putin on solo shuttles without being paranoid that someone might steal it.

Wanted an inexpensive ww paddle. This was recommended by experienced ww kayakers. Great value to get started in the sport.

I was suprised at how light and sturdy this paddle is. It is a great paddle for the novice or advanced kayayer who doesn't want to spend a small fortune on a paddle.

I'm an amateur kayaker, and this was my first purchase of a paddle, but this one worked out very well for me. It is light enough, and I'm 5'2" and the 220 was a good length.
