Good pfd for Water Rescue personnel
January 07, 2013
I got this PFD to use on the Water Rescue team in my department. It's a nice set up. It has 3 lash tabs on the from for knives and whistles and another on the top back along with a glowstick holder so you can attach a strobe or a glowstick depending on what your team uses. The large pocket is big enough for a radio in a water proof case and the smaller one holds a few carabiners and other gear. My only complaint is the shoulder straps. The tend to get twisted easily. See picture.

Good PFD but really just as it says - white water rescue jacket

This is very well made, but over kill for what I was looking for. My reason to try this pfd was for the outside pockets on vest. But, the jacket is heavy compared to std. pfds and with rescue tow belt wasn't necessary for what I had in mind. If looking for rescue jacket I would recommend. Ended up buying a Kokatat Msfit and excellent jacket with grt. pockets for my application - highly recommend.
Excellent fit adjustability and thoughtful design

This PFD was the model provided during my Swiftwater Rescue Tech course last year, and after using one during the course of instruction I became a big fan. I have been using NRS gear for many years and am always pleased with the quality, and this PFD does not disappoint. It fits very well for a vest with such a wide range of size adjustment, and the flotation is noticeably better than my usual paddling PFD. I purchased my own several months ago and would recommend this model to anyone looking for an excellent rescue PFD.
