Great set of pants
December 05, 2010

I bought this these pants for outrigger canoe and dragonboat paddling in colder weather based on others' experiences. The pants fit true to size (5'6", 140#, medium) and are quite comfortable without any chafing. The seat of the pants seem durable enough to provide some padding for my ischial bones (sitting bones) while paddling. I don't feel like overheating in them even while walking around in 60 degree temperature. They provide an appropriate amount of protection while not inhibiting my movements which require a great deal of trunk, pelvic, and lower extremity rotation and flexion/extension. I look forward to using these for a long time as I think these are a great long-term investment.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

well made

I bought these for flatwater stand up paddle. Works great as it allows different top combinations for varying temperatures. However they are cut more for sit down kayaking, so there is some "butt sag" when standing. Overall, a good value

Leg Protection
June 23, 2008

I bought these for wear on a shallow river in an IK. The bed of the river has a lot of sharp shale which is very abrasive. These pants hold up very well and have the extra padding were most of the scraping occurs-on the knees. Sized a little small. Highly recomend.

Warm & dry is the only way to be in the winter

These pants are great. Light weight, warm and priced right. Came right away and work as advertised. The water stays on the outside, the warmth stays on the inside which makes for a much more enjoyable paddle this cold November monrnings. Thanks..

Great Pants
May 27, 2012

When I left the warmer waters of San Diego and Orange counties for the Central Coast I found I needed a little more warmth for both winter and summer paddling in the Pacific. These pants are perfect for this area, where the air can get warm and the water is always cool..plenty of freedom of movement, and being able to go shirtless on a hot day is very nice...the fit is perfect, ease of entry and comfort are high...and after several seasons I can find no wear at all.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value

very good pants

I do not want to wear farmer john when paddling, because I'd like to some light weight T-shirt instead. So I choose this product and it works well, fit, warm and very easy to get into.

Great fit for my husband..he wears them under his chest waders while fishing in the cold stream water..they keep him nice and warm. We plan to start kayaking in March also so they will be used then too.

Warmth from a small package

Nice light and comfortable pants. Great alternative to farmer john type wetsuit for kayaking. Keeps you warm on those cool days while out for a paddle.

Great wetsuit bottoms but needs duarbility
September 30, 2012

I have used these for over a year and while they do everything as they are supposed to, they have developed a hole in the groin area that seems to keep getting bigger. They should have a reinforced groin area as this is the area that stretches the most but alas there is not. Otherwise these are great neoprene bottoms that I recommend. As with all NRS products they run a bit small so if you're in between sizes order a size up. Remember these are 2mm thick not 3mm so you may get cold if you dont layer and are "swimming" in 60 degree water or less.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: Wears quickly

Helped for the Winter
February 24, 2008

These pants helped me paddle in the winter months. Fit pretty well and function as intended.

Very Comfortable!
March 09, 2010

I bought these as an easy-on, easy-off pair of wetsuit pants for when I am in and out of the water. However, they ended up being so comfortable, that I wear them under my splash pants when cold weather kayaking. Wore them for four solid hours and they felt great and kept me warm and dry! Combined with good shirts/tops (various other NRS products), these are way more functional than the farmer john style.

good quality

I bought it for paddling. It is warm and stylish. However, it has some pad at the end and does not fit quite well with my NRS Boundary Shoe.

Knee Protection
June 16, 2008

I sail small sailing dinghies all year round. In the winter, I wear full wet suits, so that's fine, but in the summer months I wanted lighter weight coverage that still provides good knee protection. These pants work great. Lightweight and have good kneepads.
