I bought these lenses for extra versatility for the half jackets and wasn't disappointed. Getting used to changing lenses will have a learning curve but is definitely worth it.

I'm on my third set of lenses in 6 years for these glasses. Could be a lot worse. OTOH, I let them get pretty scratched before bothering to get new ones. Wear the glasses almost every day. Super nice when the lenses are new. They're not particularly easy to scratch, but it's not like they're much more durable that other glasses I've had. Mostly I like the way the frames fit my face.

Without a doubt, it is amazing the difference between my normal grey polarized lens and the persimmon lens. I mainly use the polarized lens throughout the day, but when I have late afternoon golf, tennis, or softball game, I switch the lens and I can really pick-up the ball better! It's especially useful if your playing any sort of sporting game in the early morning or late afternoon when the sun starts to go down. I highly recommend anyone to buy an additional lens for the different settings you might find yourself in! BTW, it is rather easy to interchange the lenses from the frames.

I love my new lenses. I had to replace my old lenses after they got scratched. I had a hard time putting the new lenses in my frames at first but finally got them in.

These replacement lenses are the perfect way to customize and make a unique pair of sunglasses. I bought these to replace my 8 year old black XLJ Half Jacket lenses, as well as the earsocks. I love the look of the fire lenses, as well as how simple they are to install. At this price, these are a no-brainer purchase.

Nice lenses. Great contrast for golf, which was the intended use. Easy removal and installation (instructions included). Cool little soft case to store lenses. Lenses appear pink, but not so when wearing.

Bought these replacement lenses for the original ones that have been scratched. The black polarized lenses are perfect for driving under bright sun.

The best combination of tint and finish

This grey color is the best grade for sun protection without the over-darkening effect of the darker shades. Dark enough to be comfortable under a midday sun without being too dark for an overcast afternoon. I find the popular black iridium that I had before to be too dark in certain circumstances. It's also better not to have the expensive and easily-scratched iridium coating, while still having a polarized lens to enhance the blue sky and green vegetation, see the clouds more defined and eliminate the glare from water or glass (for example not having the dashboard reflected on the inside of the windshield while driving, or being able to see the turquoise color of the water with corals and fish through the ocean surface as opposed to just shining reflections of the sun). The larger XLJ type lens covers better the bottom outside corner of the field of view from asphalt, water or snow glare. Although not as delicate as the iridium coated lens, it still needs to be protected from scratches if you want it to last more than a year or two in good shape.

After receiving the wrong lenses via an online retailer that sells for Altrec, I contacted Altrec directly and they quickly set the order straight. I was very happy with the customer service overall and my new lenses are absolutely the best shade and size for all my running needs whether in the woods or on the pavement. I have a narrow face and the lenses are very compatible and don't make me look like I'm an alien...or at least what we think they would look like. Great fit, great price, great service. I suggest the polarized option for glare reduction.

Versatile usage

I use these glassed primary for golfing. I like the fact that the bottom part of the glasses are frame-less, make it easier to see the target line at address. However, I found myself using them for driving, running, and hiking. These replacement lenses work great, depending on whether it is sunny or cloudy on that day.

These lenses are great! I use them for trail running. Based on the light conditions in the woods, I use the clear or the persimmon lenses. The lenses are easy to change. The optical clarity provides for sure footing. I also appreciate the design to "keep the bugs out of my eyes" during evening runs.

I love the Oakley Flak Jacket Sunglasses. They are good for biking, running, boating and golfing. They don't slide on your nose, provide excellent coverage for field of vision and are lightweight. My sunglasses came with the Pol. Blk. Iridium which are optically great especially in bright conditions. I purchased the Persimmon replacement lens here for use on cloudy days or dusk rides. Changing them is easy. Highly recommend the sunglasses and getting a pair of replacement lens to make them more versatile. Make sure you get the XLJ version which provides more coverage.

I love my Oakley glasses!! I needed some replacement lens so ordered from Altrec. When I received them...there was a small scratch on one of the lens. Altrec returned them without any problem. I will reorder my lens from Altrec!! Thanks!
