Description

It took three decades to achieve next to nothing. That's the only way to describe the weight of the Oakley MPH Nanowire™ 1.0 sunglasses, a titanium alloy frame that practically feels buoyant in air. But the real breakthrough is the adaptable fit, a benefit of memory metal that allows Oakley to create true sculptural contours that stay comfortably flexible. With a rimless design, it's probably the lightest pair of sunglasses you'll ever wear, even though it carries a ton of optical innovation. The unbeatable clarity of High Definition Optics® (HDO®) has been matched with the finest technologies ever to tame light rays. The Oakley Nanowire™ blocks UV rays and some models are offered with polarized lenses to block the glare. Oakley's permanent Hydrophobic™ lens coating repels water, skin oils and dust. Iridium® lens coating balances light to optimize vision, and the lenses even have anti-reflective coating on the back side. XYZ Optics® maximizes clarity at all angles of view, and the Plutonite® lenses filter out all UV.

Specifications

These are really great sunglasses; I love that the frames are so lightweight and that the lenses are polarized. The bag they came in is nice, but a hard case might be better (they're so lightweight I worry they may get crushed in my gear bag without a case to protect them).

Pros: lightweight, polarized

Polarized
February 28, 2013

The product description only says that some models are offered with polarized lenses, but these glasses are indeed polarized, which is great. So lightweight that I forget that I am wearing them. The lenses are light brown, so they are better on cloudy days than in bright sunlight. My only concern is that they appear to be a bit delicate - the temples and cross piece are attached directly to the lenses. Also, I know from past experience that the Oakley lenses can scratch fairly easily, so you have to be careful with these. They are perfect glasses for driving and wearing around town. However, I would not wear them for bike rides or take them backpacking because they could be damaged. Finally, as a bonus, they look great!

Pros: polarized, light weight, Cons: delicate

These rimless sunglasses are very lightweight and fit comfortably. The black lenses are polarized, which is not clear from the description. I would receommend this product for a person that needs "everyday use" sunglasses.

Extremeley lightweight and comfortable glasses. The lenses are very clear and crisp. The nosepads have a nice grip that keeps the glasses in place. Great for driving and daily use. It would have been nice if a hard case were included with such nice glasses.

Great Find

I love this product. The titanium alloy frame makes the glasses virtually weightless and super comfortable for extended use. Additionally the lenses provide a great view regardless of the sunlight. One thing that really impressed me was how well they stay on even when active and sweating. Great product at an unbeatable price.

Pros: weight, stay on

Quality: 5 / 5

These sunglasses are extremely comfortable to wear. They are so light. At times you may forget you have them on. The style is okay, and they seem to do a good job of filtering the sun.
