A step up
I used these Locking D's as soon as I got them in the mail. I had to build my own anchor on the last climb and these were a great way to finish it off. I felt much safer about using the Locking D's instead of the none locking setup I had. I just alternated the locking sides off my slings and it worked great. All the moving parts worked excellent and I have no complaints so far.

Fantastic Locking Carabiner
I use these for work on the water and for setting anchors for top-rope climbing. They are a fantastic value for the price, and my first choice for a locking "D" carabiner.

Love it!
I used this locking caribiner on the Tallulah River this past weekend for the 700cfs water release. It worked great! Solid performance, easy to use, good quality. Thanks Altrec.

Does not stand up to repeated use.
The camp I work at bought some of these for climbing wall and ropes course work. The screw gates are SUPER flimsy. We had to get rid of ALL of them after a very short time because the screw gates would get loose, and after properly securing the gate, the gate would SLIDE BACK DOWN over the threads, thereby unlocking it. VERY UNSAFE LOCKING D I would NEVER recommend this item.
