I had the Osprey Elroy when I had a larger computer and loved it. The Astro is perfect for my smaller laptop, camera with lenses, etc. It has enough pockets for everything I carry.

Great bag
Love this bag! Plenty of room for a computer and your other items. Plenty of pockets in good places and love the top entrance for your computer. Great buy!

great pack, good size and build quality
this is actually my first messenger bag. I usually prefer backpacks for more stability when biking or moving quickly. the osprey line has a nice fit that's a bit narrower than most messenger bags and has a waist strap - all of which means its pretty stable. it fits a 15" macbook pro perfectly, and has just enough room for other stuff, but its definitely not a big bag. Shoulder strap is well padded and offers flexible sliding as well as easy one handed strap length adjustment. my only complaints are a lack of accessible pockets while the bag is closed. there's a thin sleeve between the back pad and the bag, and one top mounted pocket, but nothing else. side mesh pockets hold water bottles well. though. build quality is just like their packs, very well made. attachment loop for a light when commuting is a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend trying this bag before buying another type.

Great bag to keep you organized
No more bag lady syndrome! I keep all my stuff organized in one cool looking and environmentally conscious bag. I love it! This bag helps keep my every day working life more organized and it'll be great for travel too.

versitile
I use my osprey astro as a purse and as a diaper bag as well. Its many pockets, and slots make it great for organizing just about everything. Big, but not too bulky. I loved this bag so much I also purchased a backpack from osprey. Great quality bags.

Durable and Well-designed
I have been using this pack for the last two weeks and have no complaints about its functionality or design. It is big, but not too big. It has enough pockets and they vary nicely in size. When considering whether to purchase the Astro or Elroy, know that the Elroy is more spacious. When comparing the dimensions, the difference in size seems small. However, the Elroy is better-suited for those of you who like to haul more books or documents. The Astro is best for those who prefer traveling quite a bit lighter.

Finally what I've been looking for....
This bag is a combination of quality appearance and usefulness. The Astro is the perfect size for biking back and forth to work. I can get a change of clothes, shoes, and food in the bag with plenty of room left for my cycling gear, such as cable lock, pump, etc. For the size of the bag, Osprey has outdone themselves with this one! I'm also glad to see the amount of recycled content in this bag. Definitely a great awareness for Osprey to show they are trying their best to eliminate waste of reusable materials.

nice bag well thought out
Bag is nice. Since I carry a Macbook air I have no need for an extra large computer slot. Access to pockets is very easy. Zipper access to computer allows easy removal (and one-handed return) in airport security lines. All in all a nice replacement for my big timbuc2 bag (which is nice but imho not as useful).

this bag is very nice
I bought this bag to use as a school bag, it has a lot of pockets and space. I put my laptop, shoe, running pants, and lunch box in it and feels very comfortable. I use this bag everyday.

Just what I wanted
I was looking for one bag that would serve as a purselike object and laptop bag. I value quick access to important stuff and security. This bag is it. The important stuff I need every day (keys, railpass) goes in the outside pocket, other stuff in the organizer pocket inside. There is terrific attention to detail--comfy padded handles and shoulder strap, sturdy, adjustable buckles, generous velcro, and zipper pulls you can manage with one hand, lots of padding for a laptop. I love the quick top-access zipper for the laptop portion of the bag. Mesh pockets are big enough to hold lunch, and to keep it far from your laptop. The cell phone pocket is right where it should be. I liked the green color and the recycled content is nice, too. This is one great bag that should last a long time.

Nice bag
I've liked the Osprey packs for years and needed an everyday day that I could take to work that would accommodate my laptop and other gear that I need. This bag was perfect. It has a prefect number of pockets and compartments to hold all my stuff. The top zipper is perfect for air travel when getting your laptop in and out quickly. The padded shoulder strap provides good comfort. It's not to big but can hold a lot of items. You are able to easily organize all your gear with easy access. The fact that it is made from recycled materials is an added plus. Truly a great bag, you won't be disappointed.

Works great
I bought this pack to use as an everyday bag to work and it so far has been flawless. Lots of pockets, great features and not too big. I have the blue and like it a lot. If you want to know more, call out Customer Service and ask for me.

Great pack
This is a great messenger-style daypack. Thoughtful design means you can easily get your laptop in & out without opening the main cover. Lots of pockets (lots!!) mean your gear stays organised. Fits my big 15.4" laptop perfectly, plus a change of clothes, a book and the papers I need, with room to spare. Very impressed. I bought the black one - the colours look great on the screen, but I found the green/red/blue fabric a bit shiny for my taste.
