Although it doubles as added capacity for the Crescent, Luna, Aether, Ariel, Exposure, Sojourn, and Porter series Osprey backpacks, the Osprey Daylite Daypack is a quality pack in its own right. A Spacer Mesh shoulder harness and padded back panel provide comfort even when the pack is stuffed, and a laced bungee panel provides overflow capacity if 750 cubic inches is not enough volume. For a smaller option, be sure to check out the Osprey Daylite Daypack.
Great add-on and day pack
Great pack for day hikes. I purchased for use primarily as a day pack and I am absolutly enjoying it's design. My primary pack is an Osprey Aether 70 and the attachment feature is Genious!
Love My Little Pack!
I purchased this pack for use on dayhikes during longer backpacking excursions. So, I appreciate how light and small the pack is - making it easier to pack along with my other gear. The pack is just large enough to carry supplies for the day hike, and holds my 32oz nalgenes conveniently on the outside. I will be purchasing another Osprey pack in the future, as well!
great small pack
I have several osprey packs. I love those. so I purchased this for a present. She also very like it because it is a fittable and very comfortable. she use for commuter backpack.

Great small pack!
I love my Daylite pack! It's a nice, comfortable, small pack perfect for taking on local park hikes. I can carry jackets for the kids, my SLR camera and snacks. It has a bottle holders on each side that fit 32oz nalgenes. When wearing the pack, it will not hit your head, so it should be good on a bike ride too. It also attaches to my large Osprey pack!
Small but nice..
Small but nice, Osprey quality is good. Strapping (Shoulder/Waist harness) could be longer. Compression straps to main compartment could use buckles for easier access..Other then short straps and a easier access, it's a great little backpack by itself or attachment to Osprey gear packs. (Porter46/90)
love my daylite backpack
This pack is so comfortable and it is great for a day hike. I take it everywhere I go. The price is great. You can feel the load that you are carrying it's ultra light.
Athletic & travel specific
It is small and sleek, designed for more athletic uses than lugging lots of stuff around. I wouldn't use many daypacks on a bike, but this one's good because it is streamlined. I have a philosophy of traveling light on airlines and travel a lot. This goes very well with the brilliant Osprey Soujourner as a carry-on, which is more compact than most 22" rolling backpacks. The lifetime warranty ensures that the quality is excellent.
Perfect addition to the Osprey Aether
It hooks to my Aether 85 perfectly and is a nice addition for making those short day hikes from base camp. The compartment for a H2O bladder is a nice touch as well. Adds very little weight to the Osprey pack as a "side order"
Sunburst osprey daylite backpack
This backpack is great, it is extremely light and comfortable. I used it on my last fishing trip as my carry on. I carried my laptop two large books a fishing reel all my important documents and my laptop charger. it held everything and was extremely comfortable. I didn't even realize i had the 20+ pound pack on my back
Simple, functiona, trim day pack.
I used the Osprey Daylite day pack on a recent trip to Italy where much of my transportation was on foot. The size of the pack was perfect for day long activities rerquiring extra clothing, water, food, etc. Water bottle holders worked fine and the small outside pocket was adequate for maps, identification, sunglasses, etc.
Osprey Daylite Across Europe
I went backpacking in Europe and used my Daylite the entire time. It was awesome! It was so light, but was able to hold so much. It has a great top waterproof pouch which was perfect for passport, money, granola bars, suntan lotion, etc. Plus, the Daylite will attach to your full size pack. Great Item!!!
Great day pack
I just purchased the Osprey Day Lite Day Pack. It is a great pack. I purchased it to go along with my Osprey Luna Pack and the Day Lite attaches easily to the Luna. It is a good size with ample space for my things. I am very pleased
Suits me!
I really like it! As a 5'3" woman, I want something not too heavy, big, rigid, or long as a daypack. This one fits the bill! I like the soft harness and the minimum approach (no penholder or misc. slots). I can even fit in my Dell 150 (15" screen) with a sleeve inside the main compartment(even if there's not much room for too much more stuff). The water bottle mesh on each side can hold a 32-oz nalgene bottle. This is a perfect pack for day hikers who don't want to take EVERYTHING with them.
Great Day Pack To Go With Other Osprey Packs
I have an Osprey Porter 46 pack that I really like, and I wanted to add the convenience of the day pack for 2 week trip to Egypt. I was able to use the 2 packs as my carry-on, and did not have to check any luggage. This pack is not huge, but it does it's job for a daypack. The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because if you do not have an Osprey pack to connect this to, it is probably not as desirable. However, for my uses, it deserves 5 stars.
Poorly made, inconvenient access
I love the way it attaches to my Aether 70, but the Daylite is shoddily made. One of the waist straps just fell off and the grab loop is also failing. It's also hard to find anything in it because the openings are so small. I've returned it.
Step 1 - Pack Sizing
All Osprey packs, save the transit bags, are available in multiple sizes to fit a range of torso lengths. To find your torso length, have a friend measure your back along the spine from the level of your iliac crest (the top of your hipbones) to your C7 (the knobby bone at the base of your neck).
Step 2 - Hipbelt Sizing
To determine your hipbelt size measure around your hips, not your waist. A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug; after all it will be carrying the bulk of the pack's weight. The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the pads when securely tightened.
| Torso Length | Pack Size | Hip Measurement | Hipbelt Size |

ErgoPull
Nearly all Osprey hipbelts use an exclusive ErgoPull design. It creates mechanical advantage to provide extra leverage in cinching down the hipbelt. The ErgoPull design also draws tension along the top and bottom of the belt, not through the center, so it distributes pressure more evenly over the padding and relieves direct pressure on the hipbones.
Step 3 - Harness
Osprey Crescent & Luna, Aether & Ariel and Waypoint packs offer interchangeable shoulder harnesses. Harness sizing usually corresponds to pack size, but your best bet is to try one on. A properly fit harness should terminate 2 to 3" beneath the armpit. Webbing should not touch the body. By breaking the hook and loop connection and sliding the harness up and down the backpanel the torso length can be adjusted up to 3". (see illustration).

Step 4 - Overall Fit
Once you have the correct size pack, harness and hipbelt, and the torso length set properly, it's time to put some weight in the pack (20 to 30 pounds of well distributed weight will do) and dial in the fit. First, snug down the hipbelt and harness. Connect the sternum strap (A) - position it about 2 inches below your collarbones and snug it down lightly. Finally, tighten the load lifter straps to draw the load solidly against your back. The lift straps (B) should come off your shoulders at a 45 to 60 degree angle in Osprey's ReCurve and Ethereal Suspension packs. In other models these straps serve more as compression straps and ride flatter; they may even angle downwards.
In a good fit, there should be no pressure points and no gaps between your body and the pack. With Osprey's ReCurve packs, final tweaking may involve custom fitting the aluminum stays to your back.
Offered in colors: Crimson, Granite, Oasis and Sunburst.
