Super good pack
September 06, 2011
Got this pack for weekend backpacking and climbing crag pack. For backpacking this is great if you're a minimalist and who doesn't carry much for a 2-3 trip. I took it up to the sierras and it performed great, super comfy with the mesh back. Love the lid adjustment to really pack stuff in. It also works great with a hydration pack with good routing options. For climbing this pack isn't as greet for local crags. I really wish this had faster opening for easy finding things setting up and moving around the crag. The size is good for me as I am 5' 7" and a medium works great. The shoulder straps are made of super breathable mesh and foam which is so nice when it's hot. All the straps are kinda delicate but still durable, just watch out when you crank down on the lightweight buckles or compression strap and maybe get some extra clips.

Great Big & Light Pack
November 11, 2011
The Exos 46 is great for someone who wants a lightweight pack that can hold alot, up to about 30lbs. I have looked around for awhile on the web and this site has the best price. Other reviews talk about the pack wearing quickly, I haven't had it long enough to notice. But, Osprey has a nice warranty. They will take it back and fix anything, or replace it. I`m 6', 200lbs. The Large is perfect for my size. There are many adjustments that can be made to fine tune the fit. Overall, I'm very pleased.

The Exos is the near perfect pack! Superlight weight, lots of compartments in accessable area's, great capacity for going light! This pack was used to do the wonderland trail on Mt Rainier in 3 days! that is 97miles and 24k feet of elevation gain. This pack help up and was super comfortable for the entire duration. breathes great! Sometimes it felt as if I were not wearing a pack! I would rec. this pack to anyone wanting to go light without sacrificing build and quality features.

I love this pack; it is well designed, very lightweight and comfortable to wear. I have used it for long day hikes and warm weather backpacks. I have hiked thru the Grand Canyon, swam the East Virgin River and explored Grand Gulch with it on and it felt like it was barely there. I am careful not to over pack it and not to bushwack thru the manzanita! Super lighweight pack!
Pros: comfortable in heat, Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, lightweight!, Cons: must be careful of netting and lightweight fabricAlready own the Osprey Packs Exos 46 Backpack? Tell us your thoughts.
Great Pack, Not For My Needs
April 21, 2011
In purchasing this pack, I was looking for something that would be light and allow me to carry basically my life. I am going to be spending 1-2 years in Africa soon. I wanted a pack that I would be able to put most of my things (mostly clothes) into. After receiving the bag I determined that it would not be big enough for the amount of things I need to bring. So, I traded it with a friend for an Atmos 65 and am very pleased with this bag. I do not want to give the impression that I was not satisfied with the bag, for it was a very well built bag and I wanted it to work very much! So much that I was close to purchasing the Exos 58, but decided even that was not going to be big enough for my needs. I purchased an Lg, and being a 6'4", 210lb guy I knew I would need at least a size large. The pack does fit me, but an XL would be ideal. The load lifters work, but they could be a better fit for me. The shoulder straps again, could be a better fit for me, but do work. The bag is still very comfortable, but for a bigger guy like me, an XL would be a nice thing for Osprey to offer. The bag, in attempt to keep weight down, has minimal features to it. The biggest complaint for me is that it does not have any "extra" pockets. It has the main compartment and then a lid pocket. The zippered front pockets are really not big enough to put anything in them, especially if the main compartment is packed full as it pushes into those zippered pockets. However, I do like the front stretch pocket as it is very nice for stuffing a rain jacket. I suppose this is what I should expect from a bag that is meant to be light. Before receiving the bag I was a bit concerned about the durability of the bag. Once I received the bag, I was very pleased with its quality (how could I not, its an Osprey)! Overall, I would very much so recommend this bag to everyone. Provided that it suits their needs! I wish this bag fit mine, it was great.
