Killer Pack
August 28, 2011
Let me say first, that this has been a excellent pack so far. I have only had it about three months, so I cant say to much about the long term durability. I have owned several other hydration packs by camel back, and deuter. This one rocks them both. I have been putting about 150 miles a week on it since I got it.( mtb and trail running) It feels great on my back and rides better than any pack I have. Extremely comfortable ! The bladder support system is great and well thought out. So far the only thing I have had any hassle with is the outside compression pocket. There is no way to tighten it and it gets looser over-time it seems. So unless the pack is full and there is alot of pressure on the items in this pocket, they seem to always be falling out. ( cliff bars, cell-phone, lighter, etc.). Not a big concern as there are other pockets. Speaking of pockets, the two long ones in the main compartment that run the length of a bag can be a nightmare if you dropp something small down in one of them. It kinda funnels down and things can get stuck and maddingly hard to get out. No points off on the pack though. I couldnt be happier with it.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useSnug fit and large capacity

Fits great. Fits snugly on your back without weight shiftinh. Great compartments for your gear, tools, snacks. Separate glasses and valuables pockets. Helmet attachment works great. Using an old dry cleaning hanger to expand and dry the bladder. Works great.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceGreat daypack, bit over engineered

I bough this to replace a camelback m.u.l.e. that has served well over 9+ seasons. I was looking for something with greater water and gear capacity but still on the smaller end. This bag works great for day trips where you might want that little extra room. The re-inforced wall for the bladder is a godsend and removes that 'full lump of water in your back' that was common with the older hydration packs. Pockets and zippers are well designed and well constructed. On Fit.. I'm 6' and skinny, but went for the m/l based on my torso lenght. I'll believe I will eventually re-cut the straps to a bit shorter as I have the shoulders and waist all adjusted very tight, but once adjusted it sits well on the back and holds up to my lightly rigorous trail running with little bounce. Waist straps are high, even on my frame but still adjustable to be very comfortable.. kind of wish they were removable with the size but they do fold up quite nicely and out of the way without too much work. Was able to convert while on the move which was a positive. My only real complaint would be with the weight--with all the straps, clips, oversized plastic zipper pulls, the divider wall for bladder, and the semi rigid back it really starts to add up as being significantly more heft than a cloth only daypack. May strip off some the extranous straps and pulls after I put a couple seasons into it. All in all a great daypack with large water capacity in a streamlined, if slightly 'hefty', package.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of useGreat MTB Pack

This is a fantastic pack--period. Been riding with it for about 2 weeks, and it is by far the most comfortable hydration pack that I've owned. I typically ride ~20-50 miles at a time, so I do tend to load this up with gear/food/water etc. There is plenty of room for my multi-tool, a few energy bars, rain jacket, and pump. The suspension system keeps the weight in place, and evenly distributed, and it just FITS! I am 6'5", and have a long torso, so the M/L size is appropriate. The best features are by far the hydration bladder and bite valve magnet. THe bladder is SO easy to fill, and does not barrel or deform in any way. Having the bite valve right there is a nice touch, as you don't have to remove your hands from the bars to start drinking. I will say, that by doing this, I do have to look down quite far, so it isn't perfect, but darn near close. GREAT pack Osprey!!! And the "Forest Green" color ROCKS.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, cool colorGreat pack, especially for tall guys

It has taken me so long to find a pack that fits my long torso. All of my other packs, the bottom strap digs into my gut while riding. This pack stays put and doesn't shift around while riding. It is big enough to carry a full 3 L of water with my extra tool, tubes, shock pump and tire pump. I also usually carry a jacket and some snacks. The bladder is fine. It seems like a bit of over-engineering on the bladder. I have never cared before if the bladder bulged when it was full...but that is just me.
Pros: Great design, PerformanceBest Hydration Pack thus far

Just picked up the Osprey Raptor 10 and I am very impressed. I own a couple other Osprey products and was not surprised how good the raptor is because all Osprey is top notch. I use the pack specifically for Mountain Biking and every feature of the pack works very well. The pack feels very light on your back and all the pockets are well placed and just enough room for everything I need for a long ride. The hydration portion works flawless and the water flows better than any other pack I've owned. The magnet on the bite valve is genious. Even on the first ride I could put the bite valve on the strap without even looking. No more looking for a clip to attach or tucking under the harness strap. The reservoir also is very stiff in the pack and you honestly cannot feel it moving around hardly at all like other packs. My only qualm is the pockets on the side of the waist belt do not cinch but are not loose at all. I put my hammer pill bottle in a pocket sidewise and it did not come out. Just wish it was a little more secure, but so far so good. I chose the Sand/Gold color which is more like a greenish/yellow. Love the color though. Too much great things to list about this pack. Just go get one!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Running Pack!

I bought this pack to use for ultra training and I couldn't be happier with it. I bought the M/L and I am a 5' 10" male and I'm thinking I might have been better off with the S/M but the M/L works great too. The water capacity is awesome and the pack is extremely customizable for the perfect fit. This ultra won't be a problem as far as water and gear but we'll see about the mileage!
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, lightweightWorked well while skiing

Just got back from a weekend of skiing in Steamboat, CO where I used this pack for 5 days straight. It worked very well, although didn't hold as much extra gear as I would have liked. I was only able to fit sunscreen, sunglasses case and 2 granola bars in the pack in addition to a full tank of water. Not a huge deal, but would have liked to get a few other things in there. Overall, quality was great, just don't expect to carry a ton of extra gear.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueVersatile Hydration Pack With Excellent Storage

Whether you bike, hike, or snowboard/ski, the Osprey Raptor 10 is an excellent lightweight pack that will satisfy both your hydration and storage needs. I have used it for all three of the activities above and it has performed flawlessly for each. I own two other Osprey packs and have come to expect only the best craftsmanship from this brand. The nylon material is lightweight yet durable and has thus far been very easy to clean. Comparatively speaking the Raptor 10 is a small pack, but I was pleasantly surprised by the significant storage options available for a pack that only measures approx. 19" tall by 9" wide by 5" deep when fully loaded. There are 4 separate storage pockets (excluding the water reservoir) and a clasp for a bike helmet. The sternum strap contains a strong magnet that holds the reservoir hose close to your head while being active, which allows the user to drink without using hands (especially handy for biking). I purchased the 'spruce green' color which looks like a dark green/forest green. Note that it's a touch darker than what the picture above shows, but I couldn't be happier with the way it looks. The only complaint I have is that there isn't a good way to dry the reservoir after you use it. I'm afraid of bacteria or mold build up and have resorted to propping open the reservoir with various kitchen items to improve airflow and drying (although there hasn't been a mold issue, I still worry). All in all the Osprey Raptor 10 is a great multipurpose pack. It's great for day hikes, bike rides, or storage/hydration on the slopes. If you're in need of a lightweight solution to keeping yourself hydrated while at the same time not sacrificing storage, this is the pack for you.

Awesome pack. Pure quality as always from Osprey. Very tough, and convenient. Fits snug enough not to slide around, yet allows breathability. Highly recommended.

This is the perfect size pack for day hike. Large reservoir for water and plenty of compartments to store snacks, sunscreen, dog treats, etc! Absolutely loved the magnetic latch that kept the hydration mouthpiece conveniently at chest level. Am 5'8" female and bought the size S/M.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use
