When its time to get off the plane or train, the Osprey Meridian 28 convertible backpack is ready to move either as a backpack or wheeled luggage, thanks to the innovative High Road™ chassis. This chassis demonstrates Osprey's commitment to creating industry leading suspensions on their travel backpacks, just like they are famous for on their established standard backpack line. The pack harness frame consists of an underbody of 6001 aluminum and ultra-durable lightweight injection molded ABS material with a comfy padded lumbar and breathable mesh over the top. This suspension then transfers the weight to a deluxe hipbelt and shoulder harness with sternum strap for a carry that remains comfortable even if the next stop is many miles down the road. The hipbelt and shoulder harness are easily concealed behind a zippered cover when not in use. The High Road™ chassis is also built for rugged wheeled luggage use. A curved, high clearance base between two extra large polyurethane wheels with sealed bearings assures this SUV of wheeled luggage will not get hung-up on uneven terrain. An ergonomic two position retractable handle allows for comfortable pulling over cobblestones, gravel, or through crowded airports. The exterior of the Osprey Meridian 28 backpack also features a detachable daypack, perfect for short excursions. When not in use it conveniently zips and buckles to the front of the backpack. Inside the Osprey Meridian 28 offers features to keep your clothing and valuables organized, plus enough room to carry some camping supplies. Clothing can be kept in place using the internal compression straps and numerous mesh and fabric organization pockets and sleeves keep papers flat and small items from drifting to an unknown location in the pack. very practical for travel
This has all the features I was looking for. It is versatile as it can be carried on back, rolled, or by handle. There is enough room to meet all my needs including the added bonus back pack that I can remove and carry on board with essentials.

Need a larger model
Great Concept, I need a larger model. Like a 36" model. Make it long enough so that extending handle is not required.

Great travel luggage
I took this on a surf trip to Mexico. Filled it with leashes, towels, first aid, snorkeling gear...etc. tons of room! Rolled through the airport and dirt and rocks without a hitch! Very durable, with one of the best harness systems around just in case it needs to ride on the back.
