You can carry all your essentials for a day of adventure when you bring the Osprey Talon 11 Backpack. This lightweight daypack has 9-11 L of carrying capacity which allows room for an extra layer, snacks, water and a few tools or spare parts. Comfy shoulder straps are designed with snap clip load lifter buckles to allow easy access to the hydration compartment and a mesh hipbelt with pockets keeps the pack stable without encumbering your mobility. Stuff any extras in the stretchy side pockets, the top zippered pocket or under the elastic bungee cord on the back. Great pack!
May 13, 2010

I bought this pack to commute to and from work. I only carry lunch and some cloths, but not much. I find this pack really comfortable to carry and deceptively big on the inside. I have yet to over pack for my ride to work. If you are looking for a comfortable day pack to ride or hike with, this may be the one for you. Plenty of storage, easy to access, and you can put a hydration bladder in it.

I have grown to really appreciate the build quality and features of the osprey packs - from messenger bags to backapcking packs, it all works. The talon is a great form fitting pack, small footprint but very efficient in storing gear and well balanced on your back. highly recommended.

Great for the Petite-Framed Woman
August 29, 2011

Perfect for day-hikes. Being petite, I like to like minimize what I have to take on hikes and climbs. I had a lumbar pack before which couldn't carry quite as much as I wanted. The Raptor 11 (S/M) carried twice as much the lumbar pack and felt half of the weight even with emergency balms and bandages, food for the day, a filled 2L Hydro Form bladder, and a jacket. I even had room to spare. Weight distribution was great - I could have easily carried it all day long. Plus, in photos, the backpack didn't look overwhelming on me (always a good thing). I was also really impressed by quality of the pack itself and the attention to design.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance

Very happy

Purchased this bag for my husband 6 months ago and decided immediately after borrowing it that I had to get one as well. Great as a day pack for traveling. I also use it for running to/from work. It's light in weight but sturdy. The number of compartments make it very useful.

Good Value!
November 15, 2010

I use this backpack for long day hikes, it adjusts to fit almost any height as I am 5'3 and my boyfriend is 6'4 uses this pack. Extra pockets are really nice and the adjustable waist strap helps take the load off the hydration pack that you could possible fit in. Also, pretty neat feature, when you add your own hydration pack it has some sort of material in the back that allows your back to stay cool while not getting wet. Overall totally worth the price!

great medium to light pack

I'm 5'10" and the med/large fits my back well. I needed a backpack that I could use for everything and this does the job! Small enough you can't overload yourself, but big enough you can carry all you need.

Great Daypack
October 02, 2011

The S/M pack fits my relatively small frame incredibly well - sits well on the shoulders, narrow across the back, no pressure points. I didn't realize how poorly my old pack fits until I spent a day in this one. Its really light weight, but so far is holding up well. I'm an efficient packer, but this might not be big enough for bigger people or those who need more food, water, etc.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use

4 1/2 stars
May 24, 2010

I bought this for commute biking and it's working out great. It's narrower than my old backpack, so it doesn't stick out so much in the wind, or get in the way when I look around. I've also taken it hiking a bit, and it's working really well for that. I strap my rain jacket down with the shock cord--so it doesn't fill up the inner compartment--and I can still have that extra piece of gear along. Although it's relatively small, I was still able to make a lot of adjustments to the fit...The only not so great activity was trail running with it on. I stopped and adjusted the straps a few different times but it was still moving back and forth a lot, not up and down, but back and forth, though I was all cinched down. Kind of irritating. I'm 5'6" by the way, don't know if that had anything to do with the fit, and I bought a M/L, but it was bothering me. I might try adjusting it a little more, but I'm thinking I'll just get the 5.5 talon pack for running then. I haven't tried it out with a hydration unit yet, so not sure how that will turn out.

Excellent, Versatile Pack
January 02, 2010

This is a great pack if you are looking for something to use for light pursuits. It comfortably carries 10-15 lbs and works well for trail running, adventure races, nordic skiing and fastpacking in the mountains. Particularly nice features include a separate sleeve for your H20 reservoir, clips to retain straps (preventing them from slapping you in the face in high winds), and a shock cord for securing a light jacket, gloves, hat etc. I would definitely recommend this.

I love it!

I have both the Talon 11 and the Talon 22. They are great packs for dayhiking----lightweight and comfortable. The belt pockets on the 22 are a plus for longer or winter hikes, and the 11 is perfect for any hike that doesn't require a lot of extra clothes. It's roomy enough, though, for a shell, food, water, etc. Highly recommended!
