Great pack
I bought this to replace a bigger and older pack. I needed something large and light. This os the perfect pack! You can fit a lot of stuff in here. It works great on my hikes through Nevada. So far it is holding up well. I bought the nikwax treatments for this pack too. I would reommend treating the pack to protect your gear and investment.

The Best Light Weight Pack I've Owned!
The Talon 44 is a great easy to use backpack. I found it quite roomy holding all my gear for a week. Love that it is so lightweight, has side pockets on the hep belt and has a zipper for getting in the bottom of the pack so you don't have to dig down. The floating pocket on top of the pack is perfect for large loads. I also own the Talon 11 and love the fact that it holds up to wear and tear. I wouldn't expect anything less of the 44. Don't leave home with out an Osprey!

Great overall pack
This backpack is very versatile! If you want one pack that can do numerous activities, this may be the one. This pack has been awesome for 4+ days backpacking in the Cascades and Sierra Mountains, in winter and summer. I also travel a lot with it on the plane, as it is can fit in the overhead compartment very well (not filled to the max but pretty close) letting you go with only a carry on. I also use it for day trips climbing. Everything fits a rope, draws and or trad gear, lunch, water and clothes with no problem and is comfortable. One problem is that this is a light weight pack = thin fabric. I have already patched my pack twice, but still love it and would recommend to anyone.

Great Pack. The best I've ever owned!
Seriously, I find a new pocket on this guy everytime I use it. Tons of useful loops and straps all over.

The best pack I've owned
This is by far the sweetest pack I've ever owned. I'm a big Gregory guy, but I'd have to say that this is much lighter than my Shasta, with a lot more convenient pockets and storage. Even the Gregory G-Pack is sweet, but this one has much more to it. I took my Gregory on a month long camp trip to New Zealand, but I needed somthing about half the size and lighter, and this pack was exactly what I was looking for for my short, multi-day trips around the hills of Asheville, N.C. Everything about this pack is sweet, especially for the price. I'd highly recomend it.

Simple, Light and Functional
Light weight durable pack with lots of versatility. Great for day hikes and short overnighters. This packs simplicity makes it easy to use with just the right amount of accessories. Functional pockets on the hip belt offer quick access to a snack without slowing down the pace of your hike.

So much, so light!
This pack has a lot going on... pockets, strap configurations, confort features... its got it all. I appreciate the mini sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. I hate it when I have to pull everything out of my backpack to get the items that I want at the bottom. I also like the stretchy pocket on the front; it fits my climbing helmet really well. I've used this pack for a few months now for carrying around climbing gear from crag to crag. Its looking pretty dirty, but its help up really well.
