I love this backpack. It's both asthetically and functionally perfect. The laptop sleeve keeps my computer protected but doesn't take up too much space when I don't have my laptop in the bag. There are plenty of different-sized spaces to store things (I like the water bottle holder on the side). The backpack is the perfect size to hold things for a day of walking around. It's also attractive and doesn't look too bulky. Mine is in cornsilk, and I love the color. I'm really pleased with it overall.

Great backpack for the business side of life
April 04, 2011

This backpack is very streamlined making it easy to commute to work and grad school. Great laptop sleeve keeps everything organized. The backpack was much smaller (in depth) than I expected and I doubt I will be able to fit the many books I have to carry back and forth to school. The design of the pack is perfect for transporting files and your latptop. The limited amount of outside storage compartments makes it easy to keep the bulk down which makes for better agility when biking to work/school. I ordered the Jet Black and it certainly was more of a charcoal grey. The interchangeable straps are bright green, bright pink, and brown. Nice to have options but would like to see a set of different colors. Overall the pack is super stylish (I get compliments on it everywhere I go) and has the comfort and functionality that I expect from any Osprey pack. I love the pack, it's a good buy!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, streamlined

Great Pack, a bit on the large side
November 07, 2009

This is an absolutely fantastic and versatile pack. Unfortunately, it was a bit too large for me, something I could not tell until I received the package. It would be great for long day hikes, undergrads, and the like!

Very sturdy and cute, but NOT what I expected
July 13, 2012

I was so excited to get my osprey and had been very impressed with the amount of space the bag was said to have. I WAS NOT happy when the bag came and i could barely fit half of my school supplies ( sophomore in high school) I went through a lot of trouble to fit in 2 2" binders, a file folder, and two notebooks. The bag is much taller than it is wide, which make worry that lots of things could fall down into there. But the bag definitely has some very cool and handy pockets. I especially love the key clip inside one of the pockets. I will definitely be returning this for a hopefully larger backpack from another company. I am sorry to se it go because it is such a sturdy and beautiful bag

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value, very pretty color, Cons: Bad design, not very wide

Not jet black, light on small storage space but still love it!

First of all: I purchased "Jet Black" but the color is absolutely dark grey/gunmetal or whatever you want to call it. While I was somewhat disappointed about that, I love grey too so it works. Second: I love this bag for what it is. I went shopping for a new backpack because I wanted something a little more lean looking. It certainly didn't disappoint in that department. It's not as bulky as most backpacks I have owned in the past. That said, it seems like storage of small items was not planned well. It has two fairly tiny, very tight pockets for all of your smaller stuff. While paring down was part of the motivation for getting a new bag, I really thought I'd have just a tad more room for pens, pencils, and such. There's one more pocket on the outside but it's long and skinny it seems to be intended for a water bottle or something. So, as long as you're not a pack rat, this bag can meet your needs. In a nutshell: Minimal small stuff storage, poor color representation but still love this bag.

I got the khaki, it's very versatile & subtle. The exchangeable colored straps are a fabulous touch. The bag is great quality and super comfortable, even when loaded (it fits my 15" laptop, three books & a notebook, plus small items). I am very, very pleased with this purchase & it doesn't look nearly as big on the outside as it should for all the storage space.

Rugged but still professional
May 20, 2011

I wanted a bag that was rugged enough for the trails but polished enough for board meetings. This bag doesn't disappoint. I love the smaller sizing but still enough room to pack iPad, sketchbook, binoculars and all the other junk I need. Good for work, travel and mucking about.

i just purchased this pack for carting my laptop to/from work & i couldn't be more pleased. this is my second osprey pack (i use the manta 25 for trail runs) & definitely not my last. the fit is excellent & streamlined & the capacity for extras (lunch, sweater, notebooks) is surprisingly large. the laptop compartment is padded and closest to your back; the computer itself (my 15inch fits just right - snug enough that it's not moving around during transport but not so snug that it's difficult to drop in) is secured in the sleeve with a generous velcro closure. this is my go-to, utility pack whenever i'm out and about with my laptop. the large outside flap closure offers excellent protection from the elements and possible thievery if you're in a crowded place with the pack (and your stuff!) on your back.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, comfortable, stylish

Excellent Women's Backpack
September 25, 2011

Last year I bought the Osprey Flare and was a big fan until warm weather rolled around and I found that the straps kept slipping off of my shoulders. I decided to switch to a backpack specifically designed for women, and have been extremely happy! I have the backpack in Cornflower, which is really pretty - it has a slight greyish tone to it that keeps it from being too overwhelmingly blue. It is extremely comfortable and the shoulder straps are not too far apart. I've been able to fit a surprising amount of of stuff into it (laptop, charger, books, shawl), and because the backpack is designed to keep things fairly close to the body, it doesn't look huge even when it's full. I haven't tried wearing it out in pouring rain, but the lining also looks like it is pretty water-resistant. In case it does rain, I find the side-pocket is the perfect size to keep a small umbrella. The one drawback of the backpack is that, because of the design of the opening, it can be difficult to see or access items in the bottom of the pack, so if you tend to carry lots of small things, this might not be ideal for you.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, color
