Outdoor Research Alpine Hat

It serve the purpose

This hat is great. It is really light weight. The shape of the hat make perfectly fit and cover both my head and ears to keep me warm. The price is also very reasonable. Perfectly for outdoor on the cold day in Texas. I bought size M and the hat is arrived in actually in size. I enjoy the hat and wear if often for my outdoor activity such as sailing, jogging, walking, and etc.

A nice, light hat

This hat is warm but lightweight enough to carry in your pocket. Good all over coverage including ears. Pretty good at protecting you against the wind. I like it and will use it a lot.

This hat is windproof which keeps my head and ears warm. I just don't hear the wind as much with this hat on. The extended section around back is very nice for keeping my ears completely covered and it never rides up like other hats.

Lightweight Performer

This hat is light, but not on quality or warmth. I used this during witnter snowshoe treks day and night in temps ranging from 30F down to 0F. The hat breathes well to wick away excess sweat. It blocks wind very well and maintains warmth very adequately. The fleece material on the inside is quite comfortable. My only complaint is that the elastic trim feels like you are putting on a shower cap and can present some initial uncomfortable pressure on the back of the neck. Nevertheless, the discomfort subsides (I guess it conforms to shape) and I was able to wear the hat for hours without resulting discomfort, pain, chaffing or band marks. This hat is especially great if you engage in high energy winter activity where you need warmth and wicking and adjustibility to changing temps.
