Very fine net, but packs very large
September 09, 2011
This is a great headnet - the mesh is very fine (works with both mozzies and no-see-ums), and the spring ring is very effective at keeping the net out of your face. I also liked the self-stowing pocket. However, it packs very large (at least in part due to the way the ring collapses, into a sort of cylindrical disc shape, and ends up taking up way more room than other headnets without a ring. Since I mainly intended to use the net for travel, I ended up returning this one and getting the Sea-to-Summit one instead.
Pros: Performance, fine mesh, Cons: packing sizeno more no see ums in my face

a little hard to get the hang of collapsing it but it is worth the weight, which is minimal, and wont be left behind in bug country
Very handy in Alaska
February 04, 2008
I brought this up to Alaska with me in June, and it was incredibly useful to protect me from the clouds of mosquitoes and flies while out hiking on the tundra. It stays out away from the face well, and has pretty good visibility.
Very handy headnet

I used this headnet on trips to the Alaskian wilderness and multiple trips to the Sierra. Get for peace of mind knowing your face is unavailable to the bugs. I especially liked how it keeps the net away from my face. It is also very easy to store as the bag remains attached to the net and easily fits into a fanny pack to keep it handy. I became so used to having it on my head that forgot it was there and tried to eat through the net. My only negative was that it tended to slide foreward when I looked down. I was able to counter this by placing my hat on top of the net.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of useworked great in the North Cascades, and Wasatch Mountains!

This hat fit perfectly over my large sun hat, and was very effective in keeping out unwanted bugs!
Essential in Black Fly season!
April 22, 2007
I bought this to cope with black flies and mosquitoes in New England. I found it very useful - this would fit over my bike helmet (yes, I *do* have a very small head), enabling me to use bike trails in the middle of fly season. I also liked its packability and ease of use. Can be (hand) washed with mild soap and water. Does obstruct view slightly - but it beats the flies by a long shot. Highly recommended.
great for Fla and NC

we have a lot of flying insects here at certain times of the year. I bought this for my husband who uses it for yardwork. It is very has good visability and air flow, not at all claustrophobic in hot weather. He wears it with a wide brimmed hat.

I wear this every day in the office. I get some funny stares, but I haven't been stung by a biting insect yet! Fantastic product, something everyone should own!

Worked Great in Alaska!!

Hello Future Customers, I purchased this product to eliminate the bugs in the outback of Alaska. Man, it was a lifesaver to have, as the bugs (mostly mosquitos and flies) were unbelievable! I didn't even have to use any of that DEET to keep them away.

Buzzin' in Cali Sierra's
June 02, 2010
Picked this up for early summer back-country packing trips up in the Emigrant Wilds and Stanislaus National Forest when the snow melt creates near miserable 'skeeter swarms in the evening. I haven't gotten to use it yet because it will not stop snowing.. Hope to get much use out of this. Works great w/ my OR Sombriolet Sun Hat.

Keeps the Bug Off But At The Price Of Sight
August 08, 2005
The OR bug net worked great but my vision was restricted. It is such a bummer when you are in a scenic area and can't enjoy the view because you have to hide behind the bug net.
