My favorite daypack by far
The Drycomp Summit Sack exceeded my expectations. It was a bit sturdier than I expected it would be. I can comfortably carry around 14 pounds in this pack on day hikes. (I'm six feet tall and lean.) As long as you roll down and fasten the top, it holds its shape quite well, even when not completely full.
On backpack trips, I leave my other 8-ounce dry sack at home and use the 12-ounce Drycomp Summit Sack instead to stuff my down sleeping bag. (The Drycomp's compression straps do a fairly good job compressing my bag down to a reasonable size.) The 4-ounce difference is a good tradeoff: once at base camp, I unstuff my sleeping bag, put it inside my tent and use the Drycomp for dayhiking. For only 4 additional ounces than I would normally carry, I have a 36-liter day pack along for the ride.
At night, I stuff my down vest in to the Drycomp Summit Sack and use it as a pillow. With the back side facing down, the straps are out of the way and it becomes a reasonably comfortable pillow case.
The stretchy side pockets (which, thankfully, feature elastic drawcords) are each big enough to accommodate a liter-size water bottle and one smaller item -- a small umbrella or a bottle of bug dope. There are no other outside pockets -- and none with zippers -- for carrying small items. It's worth the trade-off and not such a big deal if your pants have plenty of cargo pockets to carry GPS, map, pocket knife, whistle and snacks at the ready.
I haven't had the Drycomp Summit Sack in a downpour yet, only a light shower. But I love the promise of weatherproof construction it offers. I can leave my garbage-bag liner at home (reducing my 4-oz weight penalty even further). Outdoor Research makes quality gear, and the inside construction and detail for this pack inspires confidence this pack will perform well in wet weather.
I'm looking forward to using the Drycomp Summit Sack on an alpine mountain climb next month, where the daisychain loops (for carrying biners and belay device) and ice-axe loops will come in handy.
Light weight, relatively large capacity, quality build, waterproof construction and a great price point make the Drycomp Summit Sack a winner! I love this innovative pack!

Sturdy yet lightweight dry bag
Purchased this bag for a trip to Zion, and loved it - it's very lightweight, but the fabric is surprisingly sturdy. Like everything else OR, it's really great quality and gets all the details right without overdoing anything. I love this brand, and this bag was another good purchase. The only minor drawback was that the bag doesn't have a hip strap, which the slightly more expensive version does. In some situations it's nice to be able to ditch it quickly, though, so I don't view that as a significant drawback. I'm a careful buyer, but I would recommend this to anyone.

Nice light waterproof day pack
Very light with good construction and materials. Tested my new drycomp summit sack at my farm stuffed full of newspaper in medium snow. Contents stayed dry! Should straps are small and narrow would not be very comfortable with much weight but would be great for a day hike or ultra light weekend trip. I love it will be using it for a day pack next fall.

Fantastic Product
Great Bag- lots of space in the main compartment and a very water tight seal. Well worth the money.
