When the wind blows
September 03, 2012
I kayak, and swear by the sombriolet, especially in the summer. I bought this hat because it was supposed to have a reinforced brim. It does and it works. Was out in a 15 knot wind today and it kept the sun out of my eyes, and off my neck. The wind was still too much for the sides to stay in the down position, even with the magnets embedded in them, but the sides did stay up and attched. Guess I'll be carry'n 2 hats from now on.

This headwear provides great coverage from the elements including sun rain and snow. It can get a bit warm during the summer months with the hat lining but provides great insulation in wet situations. Would recommend this had to those who love to brave the elements.

Good Hat

This is a very good hat for windy and rainy conditions. I purchased for my husband because he likes to put the brim up on the side. The magnets holding the brim is a nice feature and works well. The rigid brim keeps the brim from flapping around and the lining is good for a little extra warmth. The thing he didn't like was the dual anchor points for the chin strap, it's awkward when he doesn't want to wear the strap under his chin: with the dual points you can't put the strap behind your head (you can untie and remove the strap from the hat, but whose gona do that?) . The dual point is supposed to be great for serious wind, so if those are the conditions you'll be in, this is probably a great feature. His head measures 22 1/4 and size M fit just fine.
