Outdoor Research Mt. Shuksan Mitt:
It isn't terribly cold, and the trip isn't especially technical, but rain and sleet are highly likely. Sound like a typical outing in the Cascades? Yep. And these are the mitt shells that oughta be there. Light, stuffable, rugged, reasonably priced, and totally waterproof, Mt. Shuksan Mitts are more technologically advanced than is evident at first glance. The main shell is Taslan GORE-TEX® fabric, and all seams are taped with Gore-Seam tape, but the 1000d Cordura palm is the unsung hero here: not just ordinary Cordura, but rather OR's exclusive Hydroseal-200-coated Cordura-waterproof to over 200 PSI! They also have anchor loops for attaching Idiot Cords.
