Heavy Duty Soft Shell
October 01, 2012
This is a highly technical soft shell with some hard shell features like more durable/waterproof hood (shell & liner), shoulders and arms. No pit zips, but side zips up the rib cage. Not designed for casual wear, but when conditions are potentially cold/windy/wet and activity requires durability/performance. Would have to pay much more to get anymore features/performance.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: no pit zips
Very comfortable, good ventilation
December 05, 2010
Overall this is an excellent softshell that is a step above the others in that it has excellent ventilation and seems to be more water resistant than many. Slightly on the warmer end of softshells, but that is compensated for by the ventilation which is excellent. Good for ice climbing, but also good a a general mountaineering parka in the style of the old 60/40 all purpose parkas that we used decades ago. I don't have enough experience with it to comment on the durability, but it looks tough enough.Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Great water resistant jacket, good design!

Very cheap and nice design. good water resistant quality.
Great climbing shell
October 20, 2009
Just got it recently, the stretch fabrics work well for ice climbing and shed rain and snow well. Warm enough so far without extra layers, I guess I will need a fleece come winter but I have put it to use so far in the Rockies, Cascades and Coastal Range with good results
