swiss army knife of jackets
January 22, 2011
the furio jacket is one excellent combination of materials and design. I was looking for a jacket that would stand up to the heavy rain on the trail yet wouldn't be so heavy and bulky that I wouldn't want to carry it. well the furio hit that mark. the paclite body is excellent and have yet to bleed after many hours and trips in rain. It breathes really well too. the hem zippers from pit to waist are awesome for poncho style draping the jacket over your pack. the pro shell shoulders keep the rain out under the weight of a full pack, which was a problem i found with other jackets. its a durable shell for what it is too i tend to take on a little extra weight in my gear if it means it'll be more durable in the field. it hasn't pulled yet after encountering many bushes and branches that would see the material rip. the higher pockets are nice because they're still accessible over a harness when you're climbing. and the nice little OR touches like articulated arms, helmet compatible adjustable hood round out his jacket. I am 6'3" and 210lbs. the large fits me just like i want it too. enough room for a base and mid layer without any extra bulk. the sleeves also fit my long arms so that made me happy :) all in all my go to shell for any outdoor activity. If you need a do it all and come back for more shell this is it.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of useOutstanding Value

This shell delivers on every promise and then some. I've used this shell as a raincoat in 4" down pours and been comfortable and dry. Light enough to wear biking, yet built like a tank. The seam sealing and internal waterproofing are both durable and functional. Combine these features with OR's reputation and "Infinite Warranty" and you really can't go wrong. I'd highly recommend this shell to anyone looking for great all season protection from the elements. The only Con I can really list would be the fact that the shell does not have a powder skirt. In my experience the bottom closing is more than enough protection, but I have yet to have a full blown wipe out wearing this shell and will be interested to see what happens. If you need a shell that will work for everything, I recommend this shell very highly. (Oh and I'm 5'10" 155 lbs, and got a medium and have more than enough room to wear layers underneath)
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: no powder skirtperfect

I bought this for my husband and he loves it. He doesn't overheat and stays dry. There is room for a thick sweater underneath on those extra cold days but it is doesn't feeel too big without one.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performanceawesome

Very impressed so far. Haven't taken it on the slopes yet but, it kept me dry as a bone in some extremely hard freezing rain and sleet for over an hour.... The workmanship and quality of materials is excellent!
