Excellent Rain Jacket...
April 13, 2012

I have been looking for years for a rain jacket that keeps me dry in the worst conditions, I have tried many, and this is by far the Best rain coat I have Ever purchased. It keeps me dry in the heaviest downpours and no water creeps in anywhere, even after hours of wear, in pounding rain and wind. It really is made very well, the athletic cut is functional as well as stylish...The cut and size are perfect for me, I am a Medium ( 5' 8" and 158 Lbs.) I would encourage anyone looking for a top notch rain jacket to get this, as it is well worth the investment.

Pros: excellent hard driving rain protection, great hood

Great Shell
July 28, 2011

Lightweight and packs down small. The material and treatment has a good feel, not too stiff and crunchy like some of the shells out there. Wet and wind protection is very good. I prefer the stormproof zippers over flaps....just easier to deal with and looks cleaner. Used it on Mt Hood in sleet and rain. I would trust this shell in the really bad stuff. The fit is perfect (for me). I really like the OR cut....athletic. Slim through the body and slightly longer in the arms so sleeves stay tucked under mitts when climbing. The arm holes are cut snug so take that into consideration when sizing. I'm 5'10" 155lbs and the medium is roomy enough for base+wind shirt+medium fleece+Patagonia Nano Puff.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, great cut, light

You get what you pay for
May 10, 2011

This is my first technical shell and gotta say I'm impressed. I haven't had it in hardcore weather yet but have worn it in the rain a number of times. Wards of rain and I stay very comfortable with the breathability. Love the athletic cuts in it. I can raise my arms and the jacket doesn't go flying up. Love the adjustable cuffs on my wrists as well. Hood seems plenty big to fit a helmet. All and all, this jacket is very well thought out from the cut to the double zippers on the pockets to the waterproof zippers. May not have the flair of some other brands out there but OR gives you our money's worth in performance. Highly recommend. As for size, I'm 6', 165lbs and a long slender build. I bought the large and think it is perfect. Plenty of room for layers but I'm not swimming in it. Looking forward to taking it up Mt Hood on my first mountaineering excursion.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
