Nice mid layer
December 26, 2011
Bought this for my husband to wear instead of a fleece pullover, mostly for various winter sports . It's a great, lightweight mid layer and packs smaller than a fleece pullover. The full zip jacket is great - much more convenient than pulling a fleece over head. The hood works well for a little extra warmth. I originally bought him a medium - it fit OK in the shoulders but this particular item runs narrow through the torso and hem so it was a little too snug. Replaced the medium with a large and it fits much better though it now hits him a touch longer than it should. He loves this hoody and doesn't mind the extra length too much. The red is a great color, too. I like the red better than a dark or neutral color - easy to spot him from a distance with the brighter color. All in all, we're very pleased!

R1 hoody competitor
December 09, 2010
This jacket is obviously a Patagonia R1 hoody competitor. I preferred the full zip and the significantly cheaper price so I got this one. I've never owned the R1 hoody (though I have friends who swear by it) but this OR Radiant hybrid hoody seems to be doing just fine for me. Still have the versatility with the balaclava style hood (with asymmetric zipper) and thumb loops. It's built well and of high quality. Haven't had a chance to really test the warmth - the fleece seems a bit thin but I'm optimistic... we'll see. I'm 6' 165lbs and the medium fit me well in both torso and sleeve length. Enough room underneath to layer a few thin layers but nothing more. The fit is pretty snug. I usually wear M in most outerwear. If both this and the R1 hoody were the same price, I'd probably get the R1. But in the end, this was significantly cheaper and I have no regrets buying it. It's still a solid piece. Looking forward to abusing it.
Not Impressed
January 01, 2011
The piece has the OR quality I'm used to but for what the item cost I wasn't that impressed with the material. I have some "Polartech Power Stretch" garments that have a more substantial feel to them than this OR Radiant Hoody. I liked the fit and function of this piece but just felt the material was lacking for that price range. If you could get this on sale under fifty bucks and are looking for a functional light weight piece I would go for it, but at over a hundred I would pass and try another manufactures equivalent.
Super warm but light weight

This jacket is warm but light weight. I have black and my wife says it looks good too. Can't wait to get my next one. Hood fits snug so it stays up and keeps your head warm. I also love the thumb holes.
Great Light Layering Fleece
August 15, 2011
Love this fleece - very light and efficient. A minimalist's ideal layering garment... Athletic fit but not restricting, the fabric is smooth and allows for the full range of motion. This is the great layering piece that mold to the body due to a stretchy, smooth fabric. The fleece block some wind, but definitely not windproof. Excellent hood fit. The only feature missing is the elastic cord along the hem and the hood, but for some it may be an overkill. Highly recommended, runs true to size (I am 5"8", 155 lb, and small fits perfectly). Love the thumb homes at the end of the sleeves.
