Another superb OR product...except for pilling.
August 26, 2011
I'd already purchased an OR Radiant LT Zip Top last year, but it's such an excellent product - like every OR item I own - I had to buy another this year. I've used it jogging on cool, autumn mornings and it breathes like it has lungs; I stay cool instead of overheating. Further, the moisture that it wicks is quickly pulled from my body, channelled and locked into the top's fibers. So I stay cool and dry. Plus, on winter mornings I keep the zipper up and am provided with necessary warmth. I've also used it hiking and climbing with the same results. And on that end, the cut of the Radiant is perfect, not riding up under a harness or shrinking back on my forearm's - thanks to the ingenious thumb holes. Add to that durability, which then legitimizes the price. (I also have the OR Radiant Hybrid Hoody, affording the advantage of combination fleece for maximum breathability and warmth, a hood, and full-zip. Both superb product designs.) All that said, I'm vain enough to frown at the minor pilling that accumulates near the thumb holes and around the sides at the hemline. But that's not a pea that causes me to lose any sleep:)Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, appearance, Cons: minor pilling
Don't like the fit

I have lots of fine OR products, but I can't really see the point of this one. It's too loose for a good baselayer (I'll admit I'm scrawny) and not thick or fleecy enough to wear over a shirt. For someone who fills it out better it might make a nice baselayer.
Good thought, average materials!

I bought this to use as a midlayer on cold ski days under a shell and only wore it a few times. The design thought is good with the half zip, thumb holes etc. but the materials are a little disapponting! The interior grid fleece is a little "sticky" when it comes to sliding it over your baselayer and seems to grab and requires too much adjustment when your in a hurry to get it on and get going. Also the face fabric which is kind of a smooth polyester has worn very easily and started to pill a little after only a few wears. I love OR stuff but this isn't one of their best products!Pros: Build quality, Performance, Cons: Wears quickly, Poor quality
Would have loved to keep it...

But the size large was awfully big on me (and I normally wear large in most all tops). As always, excellent OR fit, finish, and quality. The thumb loops are a really nice touch.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Functionality, Expected OR Quality

I was looking for a fleece pullover for winter months, and decided to give this a shot. The interior is fleece while the outside is some other type of material. I love it and it is fitting my needs. The fit is somewhat athletic. I'm not sure I'll ever use the thumbs slots, but I guess its nice that I have the option. All in all, another quality OR item.
