The material is in good quality and lightweight. The side zips allow you to take off the pant without putting off your boots. No problem in fending off rain.
well made and comfortable

these are the best rain pants I've owned. very comfortable with gusset and articulated knees and slight stretch in the fabric. Workmanship, zippers, etc. excellent. good breathability and venting options. my only reason for a 4star rating is the length was shorter than the 32inch inseam advertised. my measure of the length for size medium comes to 30.5 inches which leaves a gap above my shoes for water to drip in. I usually wear a 32 or 33 inch inseam. Shorter legs will be happy with these pants.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Light weight and perfect for backpacking for those who count every ounce. Purchased a pair for my son and now one for myself. We both will be prepared for Philmont this summer! Have already recommended them to others in our Boy Scout troop.
Great full-zippered hardshell pants
January 21, 2013
After much research I bought these pants to carry primarily as light weight winter "emergency" hard-shell over-pants to cover my softshell backcountry ski pants when needed for protection from the weather and for warmth. Well, a ski near Yellowstone Park on New Years Day was the first time I actually used them for that purpose as the 30 mph wind when we reached the exposed ridge at 9,500 feet made the zero degree day too much for my breathable softshell pants and I can report that I am fully satisfied with the purchase. Suffice it to say the full-length fully-separating zippers are essential for rapidly donning the pants in exposed conditions and the Revels worked perfectly. In my opinion Outdoor Research nailed the design on these pants. Time will tell as to how well the pants hold up but skiing down through dense trees and brush caused no issues on this outing so I have no reason to doubt the will work for a long while to come. Great job OR!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use
