Good warm fabric. It would be nice if I could fold it over a little better to wrap snuggly around my neck; the whole diameter is larger than your head. I guess I was looking for something that would be more snug on my neck yet stretchy enough to pull up to my mouth. This is not that. I'll try the uber tube next.

Gridded fleece gaiter greatness!

This gaiter is outstanding. It is a gridded fleece on the interior side, and a smooth faced fleece on the exterior side. I imagine you could reverse it with some success of changing its effectiveness, though I haven't tried it. Be forewarned, there are 2 different Radiant Fleece Neck Gaiters by Outdoor Research. One of them (this one) features gridded fleece, the other one features a 2 layered fleece that is smooth on the entire exposed surface, and lofty on the inside (where you cannot see or access). I found the gridded fleece to be thinner, more comfortable, and just as warm. The 2 layered version was a bit stiff / thick, sort of restricting. At the time of this review the gridded version is available in red or green, and the 2 layered model is available in brown and black. Do your research if this is important to you.
