Versatile warm gloves
March 16, 2010
These gloves did a week in Yellowstone this winter. They kept me very dry - despite repeated contact with the snow and ice. For cross-country skiing they were perfect with just the liner in single digits, they were great alone for skiing in 20-40degrees. They were also used for photography in the single and negative digits with an extra fleece glove inside. They maintained warmth OK, but any camera adjustments (aside from turning a simple dial or pushing the shutter button) required removal of the glove which resulted in a substantial amount of effort to rewarm your hands in the gloves (hand warmers in pockets to pre-warm could have been a fix). I bought one size bigger to accommodate thicker liner, but that meant tight gloves. The supplied liner would be fine for active cold weather activities, but if you will be standing still a lot or taking them on and off, look for a warmer glove.
