Great Jacket
February 07, 2011

This is the second OR Palisades jacket I have owned only because I thought I lost my first one, was devastated, and immediately ordered another one. I absolutely love this jacket. I work as an outdoor instructor and have gone through several jackets. This one always holds up and is one of the more waterproof pieces I have. I also love carrying this one back and forth because it zips into it's own pocket, making it hard to find an excuse to leave it behind. I'm 5'4 and about 125 and the small fits me well. I've tried on a medium and it fits a little bigger and boxier, but still get's the job done.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance

Stocky cut - not for the tall and thin

The quality of this jacket was quite nice but the cut was too boxy for me. Has to return

Light weight

Extra weather protection in a light weight layer

light weight, wind blocking, great layer
June 01, 2010

Love the color, the light weight, and the zipper vents. Only complaint is that the hood doesn't quite fit my head and is a bit awkward when cinched (but that's more likely a defect of my head shape than the hood!). Perfect to toss in your bag when you're not sure what the weather is going to do, and is an awesome windbreaker as well!

Perfect top layer for wet weather
September 30, 2009

I needed a waterproof comfortable jacket that came in a classic purple color for both our children's high school and my college sporting events. I searched the internet and this jacket fit my needs. I'm a practical person, so I also was happy to see all the adjustments and configuration changes this jacket could make. I have used the jacket several times and I am very pleased that I chose this one!

Great, light, easy-to-layer rain jacket
June 19, 2009

I am really happy with this jacket. It is very lightweight, easily adjusted, and breathable. I looked for a long time for just the right jacket to put over my size small North Face fleece jacket. This one, in medium, works really well over it. The only strange part is that the side zips open completely, no mesh or anything. That ought to help cool me down quickly though.

I really like most of the features of this jacket, but it has one big problem for me and that is that the hood seems quite small. No amount of adjustment can make to visor stand out far enough to cover my face. Disclaimer here is that I do tie my hair back when I have to wear a hood so that does take up some space, but most things can fit a low ponytail and cover most of my face. This only covers some of it, which is a big drawback. The way the hood rolls down is also impractical and, in my opinion, more or less useless. Other than that, this jacket is awesome. The pockets in the front are gigantic, and the inside pocket is also quite large. The material feels high-quality and durable, the color is LOVELY, and the overall fit is much nicer than a lot of other similar jackets. The inside is not lined and does feel a little wonky if you sweat a lot and your arms aren't covered. Because I'm using this in warm climates, that's somewhat of an issue for me. If you'll be layering this it shouldn't be a problem at all. The venting isn't anything special to me, I don't see how it's any better or worse than the pit zips common in most rain jackets. Apparently for some people the open sides make it easier to accommodate other equipment, though, which is a plus if you need that. The adjustments for the hem being only in the back does keep the front looking flat and nice, but it makes the back bunch up twice as much if you need to cinch it down very tight. I have very narrow hips so I doubt this would be a problem for most people, but I would prefer if it just had adjustments in the front and back. Overall, I think that for the price you really can't beat this jacket. It's just as nice as many that cost well over twice as much.

Pros: Great design, Great value

Does the Job Credibly
December 30, 2009

This is a great jacket-lightweight and well-made. My only complaint is that the "vents" are just zippers along the side seams without any meshing. This seemed a bit cheap when compared to similar jackets, but overall it's a great buy.

Overall Good Jacket
April 13, 2009

If you are looking for a very light rain jacket then this is a great coat. The jacket also has a lot of options to adjust to a person's specific size preferences - zippered seams, drawstrings on the hood and waist band, and Velcro around the wrists. My only complaint is that it is a little bit lighter then I expected. I generally have to wear another layer under the coat unless it is a warmer rainy day. Overall, a good well-made coat.

Great knock around jacket

Purchased this as a running jacket so that I wouldn't mind if it got beat up and sweaty. It works great it vents nearly as good as jackets that are $200+. I think it works great for running.

Just what I wanted
April 26, 2011

I was looking for an attractive waterproof jacket and this is it. I had a chance to try it out the day it arrived and was very happy to have it. I stayed dry and warm. I'm almost 5'4", 115 lbs and ordered the medium. It fits nicely over a t-shirt with room for a thicker shirt too without being boxy. The sleeves are a little long but the velcro straps at the wrists fix that easily. The only drawback is that it's not breathable.

I just received this jacket in the mail today and couldn't be more pleased. It fits nicely, I love the color, and it did its job in keeping me dry while coaching. The material itself is very lightweight; perfect for the mild temperatures in the Pacific Northwest. It is quite the noisy thing though, scares my cats half to death. But that's less of a complaint and more of a passive observation.

I recently purchased this jacket because i moved to a town with unpredictable and often wet weather. So far I have used this jacket about 3 or 4 times and each time it has served its purpose well. the hood is a little small, it covers my head, but does't stick out enough to completely protect my face. Other than that feature this coat is great and I would recommend it to a friend. It's especially great for the relatively cheap price !

Runs small
September 17, 2010

I normally wear a small. This jacket has a very slim fit. I think you should size up if you want to wear a fleece or such under it. Its fine if you will be wearing it alone or over something light. I also didn't realize there is no collar. It has a velcro tab at neck and bottom, I wish it also had one at the waist which would allow you to close it without using the zipper. I got the sandstone color which is like a metallic grey, nice. I will use this for walking, doing errands and airline trips.

Pros: Great design, Great value, Cons: no collar
