Description

There are some pieces of gear that go with you on every single adventure. The Radiant Hybrid Jacket is that kind of piece. Its the perfect combo of warm, insulating fleece where you're most exposed to the elements and breathable light fleece where your body needs to let heat out. Wear it under a shell for extra warmth on stormy high alpine epics, as your outer layer on cool morning approach, or throw it over a tee on the way to grab your morning coffee; this piece works as well under or over, as an inner or outer layer. Don't worry - we wont blow your cover if you cant ever find a time when you're not wearing it to give it a wash.

good mid-layer cloth
December 16, 2011

it is light weight and has some wind protection. I wear it with my OR chamber to achieve good cold protection and if it is raining I can wear one down jacket and Acry/teryx Beta SL jacket to protec raining and still move easily. Additional, it is so economic.

Lightweight insulated piece
March 31, 2013

This jacket is a good balance between lightweight and warmth. I use it on hikes especially during the day. Unlike some mid layers, it does offer some wind shield protection, which is a plus. Having said that, wind protection is better left to a shell that is designed for that purpose. A good buy and as usual, great service from altrec.com.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Great value

hybrid jacket
August 01, 2011

I got the Espresso color in Size S. It fits true to size chart. The thumbholes are a nice touch, but they're not very noticeable if you choose to not use them. I am very happy with the thin fleece layer inside, it does not add bulk, only protection. My only gripe is the length, it is really really short. Unless you're either very short or have a very flat front this might not work for you, it could use at least 2 inches in length. Personally I am careful how I move when wearing this.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Cons: too short

Nice length
December 01, 2011

5'4", size medium: Sits nice and low on hips, sleeves are perfect (fine with or without thumb loops), shape is very feminine and flattering, zipper pull is tiny (but maybe that was on purpose), chest pocket is high on chest/shoulder (so us girls can still put our phone in there), no hand pockets makes it feel very sleek and adds to flattering profile, layers nicely. Seems like the smooth face may pick and pill over time, but don't know yet. Berry is deep rich color, in the grape juice and raspberry family. I like it.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, consistent or fit., Cons: face of fabric may not wear well

Technical Wonder
May 16, 2012

I purchased the OR Radiant Hybrid Jacket for cool/cold weather hiking. Size Large fits my 135#, 5'4" frame well with room to under-layer a polyester hoodie. With "brushed", "brushed grid", and "radiant" fleece, this zippered, 95% polyester/5% spandex highly technical jacket delivers much warmth, breathability, wicking, and insulation in a rugged, comfy yet stylish jacket. There is an upper-right side front zip pocket for a phone and handy thumb holes. After several wearings and washings, my green OR Radiant Hybrid looks good. The only wear is some snagging in the smooth outer fabric but this jacket was intended for rough outdoor wear.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, Lasts forever, Performance, great warmth for its weight, Cons: some fabric snagging

Very warm & comfortable
November 22, 2011

I bought this to wear as a second layer under a shell for skiing. The warmth is felt from the moment it's on. Soft & comfortable. Form fitting, true to size. Moves well with you. This could become a new favorite.
