The fit is excellent and the fabric is delightful. I appreciate the hood fitting snugly so that it stays on in the wind and the thumb holes in the sleeves are great for keeping the wind from blowing up the sleeves.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueWrite a review for the Outdoor Research Rumor Jacket here.
My new favorite jacket!
September 28, 2009
I love this jacket and have received many compliments on it. It's thin but still warm (but I don't overheat). The hood and high neck are an added bonus, and I like how the bottom is angled, giving it a more feminine look. I may have to buy one or two more in different colors!
Thumb holes make all the difference
September 10, 2010
This is a light jacket, rather like a sweater, but thinner and snuggly soft. Being able to hold the sleeves down with the thumb holes adds to its layering qualities. Beware of the sizing, it is form-fitted. If you like a baggier feel, buy a size or two bigger than usual.
nice mid-layer
February 08, 2012
not sure why the item description includes the word "jacket", it is definitely just a nice mid-layer that provides warmth when worn over a base-layer. I love the hood, it fits very well under a helmet. I have worn it cross-country skiing when it's cold out (under a soft-shell) or by it self when the temps are mild. Love it for snowboarding under my jacket. Quite a lovely piece. It's very fitted -- and on the sizing chart my bust & shoulders are a medium but my hips are a large. So I went with a medium and i like for an active but fitted piece. but if i was going to wear it as a fleece with nothing over it, i'd probably wish i had a large.

Poor Fit
July 27, 2012
This jacket does not fit well. The sleeve length is too short. The bottom of the jacket is long enough in back, but in the front the jacket is not long enough to reach the top of my pants. I wouldn't get a size up, because then the jacket would be baggy around my torso. I'm 5'4 and 115#; really this jacket is made for someone shorter and more round.

A Favorite piece

I own 2 of these from OR and love them for an active life style. I wear mine xc skiing all the time and I love the snug but comfy fit and the thumb holes are perfect with a mitt or glove. The hood fits snug around your head not big and bulky like some hoodies.
