I'm 5'4 and weigh 115 and these pants fit perfectly. The waist is small but there is a lot a room in the hips, finally. I haven't used them ice climbing yet but they were very warm for hanging outside.

Great Outdoor Pant
A really excellent product. Fits well through the waist and hips, well-constructed, quite water resistant. I particularly like the easy cinch at the ankles as well as the zipper to allow easy on/off with boots. The fabric is durable with a bit of stretch, which is perfect for activities from snow shoeing to ice climbing. The mesh-lined side vents are great, although I use them less frequently in the cold weather. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent Ski pants
Fits well, feels great to wear and performs well even when I fell in powder. They also look good enough to wear out to dinner or anywhere. A really good pair of winter/ski pants. I'm looking to buy another pair!

Exactly what I was looking for!
I live in Vermont and have been searching for snow pants for a couple of years and have finally found the perfect pair. They are comfortable, not too baggy and not too tight, quiet, and easy to cinch around the ankle. They have a nice soft lining and zippered leg vents so you can layer up or down depending on the conditions. They even have a nice feminine touch with a subtle flower pattern on the back belt loop. Like a pretty pair of undies, no one (well, almost no one) really gets to see it but you know it's there. So far I've worn them snowshoeing and XC skiing in +/-20 degrees and even though they have a nice soft lining, I was happy to be wearing a lightweight layer under them. They run a little small so I'd order up. I typically wear an XS (I'm 5'3", 113lb) and ordered both the XS and S, and the S fit perfectly. They only have one tiny pocket which isn't a huge issue for me since I usually have jacket pockets and/or a backpack. I can't speak to durability yet but they seem well constructed and will hopefully last for many years.

Nice pants!
I bought these to go snowshoeing and skijoring with. I love the look and feel of the pants, but the M is a little big, so I am returning for a S. I plan on wearing them with longjohns, they are soft and warm inside.

I wanted to like these but ...
I wanted to like these but I could not make them work for me. I found them to run a little small and to lack functional pockets. I have small hands, and I had trouble getting my hands in the pockets to retrieve the few small items I could fit in them. They appear to be well made and seem as if they would be comfortable, durable, and warm. If they fit right, I think you would probably love them.

warm and comfortable
I like the high waist design especially. I'm 5'4, 120lb and size small fits perfectly. The inseam is not 29'' as described, maybe 29.5 or 30'' something. Very warm and comfortable.

Can't go wrong with Outdoor Research
Very attractive on as well as nice fitting. Great range of motion thru the knee. The fleece lining is soft and comfortable on its own or with a cap first layer. The Solitude is not bulky so it will work great with a shell pant over the top for extra warmth. I'll know more upon my return from Everest base camp November 1st, 2009.

Nice on Ice!!!!
I love the OR Solitude Pants! Classic look...and warm! Wear mine while ice climbing in zero degree F temps. I think they are much warmer than my old Patagonia Guide Pants. The Solitude pants are not too bulky and I have a great range of motion in them...even with a pair of expedition weight long underwear underneath. Wasn't sure about the color brown...i'm more of a black kind of gal...but wanted to mix things up. The brown pants look awesome...and no the color does not make my butt look big! I wear the OR Mithral Stormshell on top...very warm with generously sized hood to make room for my helmet. The color: BlueJay looks great with the brown. Happy adventures!

Good Pants
My girlfriend has these pants and uses them for all our snowsports. Skiing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. They are warm, soft and block the weather great. Have nothing but good things to say about these. Any questions, feel free to ask me in the customer service at Altrec.

COMFORTABLE WARM PANT
I have been looking for a pant I can wear casually in winter that has a warm fleecy type lining in it. I wanted something more comfortable and warmer than jeans. These pants are great. I am warm when hiking, snowshoeing or just doing some running around in town and do not get too hot and sweaty in them. They stretch with you and are very comfortable. I have purchased 2 pairs. The only thing is that I am only 5'2" and they are a bit long for me, but with shoes on they are fine.

Great Fit, Great Function
These pants are designed great. The hidden zippers for the upper vent and lower calf gussets provide for a clean look. The fit is fantastic, not too bulky but plenty warm. A great pant for those more aerobic sports such as nordic skiing (on very stormy days) or telemarking!
