A little less polished...
March 27, 2013
This piece functions great for what it is. On colder backpacking trips (~20 deg lows), I use it as a headband/hat while hiking and as a mouth/face cover when sleeping. Compared to the 'original' Buff, it's a bit less polished. The edges are rough - not hemmed and not laser cut. There's a seam and a tag - so there's an "inside" and "outside", which takes away from the aesthetics when being worn. That said, it's lighter weight and a thinner material (a plus for me). So I prefer it over the 'original' Buff for those reasons, even if the aesthetics aren't quite as good.Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Poor quality
It's A Tube!
March 13, 2012
It's pretty much what you would expect. Its a stretchy wicking tube. It is super thin (single ply, not two ply as I expected it to be) so it doesn't cause you to become excessively warm while performing moderately paced activities. I would imagine it provides some level of UV protection even though non is advertised, it wicks and dries amazingly fast. My one beef with it is that the ends are not hemmed. It is basically just a single ply tube, with a long vertical stitch, I worry the ends will become frayed, but time will tell. Also great to keep the bugs out of your mouth while hiking or cycling.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Performance, Cons: ends not hemmed.
Great For Cold Days
March 12, 2013
I live in New England where winters can get quite frigid. I was looking for a lightweight scarf to cover my mouth when running on really cold days when the temperature drops into the single digits or below zero. This Ubertube fits the bill perfectly. It is light enough to act as a small barrier against the bitingly cold air you breath in while running, while still allowing you to breath normally. It also doubles as a nice neck warmer if you pull it down.Pros: Great design, Ease of use
