Alright, it's 2 hats in one -- completely waterproof and, when you put away the rain cover as breathable as any enclosed cap you can buy. What you can't tell from the ad is where the rain cover goes when you tuck it away. It folds into the bill of the cap and forms a lump that makes your cap's brim look pregnant. Is this a problem? Well, if you're the kind of guy who wears convertible hiking pants, or plastic flip down sunglass shades attached to your glasses-- certainly not! I actually won't wear do either of the two options just suggested, but I do find this hat acceptable because I'm a photographer. (My camera is rain resistant, but my relatively compact lenses are not). I use it in waterproof mode as a waterproof cover for the lens attached to my camera when I shoot in the rain. The camera sits quite well on the DSLR held in my hand and I can raise it up to my head and shoot. This OR Revel cap works very well as a rain visor rain visor that keeps my head dry underneath my bike helmet or when in pregnant mode a sun shade that doesn't restrict air flow. Then, when I bike to my destination this rainy winter I have a rain cap. I could also use it a running cap, but I don't. It is really just a traveling hat, a cap for times on road when one hat has to serve many purposes.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use
