This thick, core-warming vest has a 1/4" pile exterior that softly buffers bellies, and brushed mesh laminate backing to wick moisture. The tapered collar, made from soft fleece, offers chafe-free comfort against the neck and chin. Nylon Supplex® on the double-layered handwarmer pockets, collar and front-zip binding adds strength and clean contrast. With a retro-style Patagonia® chest label and an ID tag sewn inside. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material.
