Description

When you need everything for anything, grab the Chacabuco and go. It houses all your gear in three separate compartments, has reflective piping for night commutes and an exterior shock cord for additional stowage. The generous main compartment carries most things, and comes with a padded sleeve that's raised to protect up to a 17-inch laptop. Equipped with a tube port, the sleeve also accepts a hydration reservoir when you leave your laptop at home. A secondary pocket stores everyday necessities, like keys, pens and a phone. A zippered outside pocket holds power bars, and a microfleece-lined top pocket protects sunglasses or an audio device. Two stretch pockets keep water bottles within reach. The Chacabuco's suspension system uses airflow mesh shoulder straps and back panel, a webbing waistbelt and a sternum strap with an emergency whistle. Compression straps stabilize the load. Made from 420-denier 100% nylon oxford plain weave with an 840-denier 100% ballistics nylon bottom. The lining is 200-denier 100% polyester. All fabrics have a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Perfect carry on
November 13, 2011

Bought the chacabuco pack for a week long trip this past summer. It has served as the perfect carry on for many cross country flights. The padded shoulder straps are very comfortable, made it easy to navigate the airports keeping my hands free. The pack is well designed with plenty of extra compartments which made it easy to distribute weight evenly. Love the fleece lined pocket at the top - easy access and safe storage for the iPhone & iPod. My 15" Laptop fit perfectly in the padded storage area. This is definitely the most comfortable, efficient and attractive backpack that I have owned.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, easy to distribute weight comfortable

I LOVE this bag!
July 03, 2011

I usually a backpack instead of a purse, since I often have a laptop, notebook, extra sweater, and various office supplies with me. This bag holds it all, and it somehow makes it feel lighter. All the pockets, especially, are nice. Now that I have it organized and know what goes where each time, I can find everything immediately. I just came back onto Altrec so I could purchase another to use as a diaper bag.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value

Travel/commuter pack
May 15, 2011

I bought this pack specifically for my travel to school and everyday commuting to and from...I either ride my bike or walk and this pack has been perfect...it holds my iPad in it's own separate padded area within the large part of the pack...it holds my chef knives easily in there own case inside perfectly along with my chef coat, shoes and study material. It has also served as my grocery bag and carried 40pounds of produce home from the store easily on my back. Get this pack you will love it!

great for a weekend get away
April 24, 2011

I just purchased this pack as a every day back to carry things back and forth to work. This past weekend I put it to the test on a weekend trip. I was able to pack the necessities of the weekend (change of clothes, toiletries, a book for the plane) without any difficulty. The full pack was comfortable to carry. All items were easy to access. The full pack fit easily in the overhead. Also works well for lugging things back and forth to the office.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, well thought out
