Comfort, quality and sustainable
January 31, 2013
There is no shortage of companies producing wool blend performance socks. I settled on Patagonia's socks because I have had great success with other Patagonia products, and I like the way Patagonia does business. These socks are well made, comfortable, durable and made in the USA. So for me, they don't just feel good on my feet, they make me feel good about wearing them. I am pretty hard on my socks because I don't own many pairs so they get used a lot. These socks are holding up very well to the rigors of work (I work for the green mermaid coffee shops), outdoors (when I am not working I am trail running or hiking) and they are still comfortable to wear when going to the movies because they do not collect odor. A note about size, I wear a size 9 (in running shoes I am a 9.5) so according to Patagonia's sizing chart I should wear these socks in a large but the large felt too large so I ordered mediums instead and I like the way they hug my feet.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuePerfect running socks

Patagonia has perfected their running socks this time around. I've had problems with my toes breaking through these socks in the past but this version seems much sturdier. They are thick enough to add a bit of cushioning while on the run, but thin enough to keep from overheating. The wool/nylon blend keeps things from getting too sweaty. I'll be picking up some more.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: CostAlready own the Patagonia Lightweight Merino Run Anklet Socks? Tell us your thoughts.
A little loose...
February 29, 2012
I recently picked up these patagonia socks due to the fact that I enjoy hiking in some of their other socks quite a bit. I ordered the same size I order in their other crew / hiking type socks and I was somewhat disappointed to discover that these feel a bit loose. I was able to feel my foot sliding around inside my sock quite a bit which obviously is not a good thing. When I looked at the sock on my foot later it looks like it fits, it just seems as though it isn't fitted enough to remain snug on my feet, your mileage may vary. I have relatively narrow feet, which as I said before has never been a problem with other patagonia socks. As far as the quality, it is excellent as to be expected, the sock regulates moisture and heat effectively, just didn't quite fit how I anticipated.
