So good I will buy another
October 21, 2010

This is a great shirt and can be worn almost anywhere. It is not super thick so it is perfect for a fall day. As always the patagonia quality is super and the attention to detail is obvious. Like I said like this shirt enough to buy another.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Perfect Casual Shirt
October 24, 2010

As mentioned by one or two other reviewers, the fabric of this shirt is by no means a typical "flannel." It is thinner and, if brushed, the nap is very, very fine. Really, it feels more like a lightly brushed broadcloth shirt that will be comfortable up to at least 70 degrees. It doesn't add a lot of warmth in colder weather. Nevertheless, this is a great shirt and I just ordered another! It is cut perfectly for wearing untucked - not too long at all. I also really like the "regular fit" from Patagonia. I'm 5'11" and ~ 160 pounds and the medium fits perfectly with a relatively slim fit. I can still comfortably wear a long sleeve tee underneath. The 70/30 cotton/poly blend means that is will never need to be ironed and it easy-care. This also makes it good for travel. Thus, as long as you aren't expecting it to add the warmth of a typical flannel shirt, there's nothing not to like.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

Great shirt for work or play
May 29, 2012

I was looking to add a new shirt to my collection that I could dress up at work with a pair of dress pants or that I could throw on with a pair or jeans. This shirt is great! The fabric is not what I would call flannel though. Seems more like a brushed twill. That is the only reason I give it 4/5 stars. Even though the shirt is not "flannel" it is very comfortable. Construction seems very solid and it is holding up well after several washings. The fit is normal. Would love to see them make some more button up shirts in a slimmer cut. Looking forward to getting another a second in another color.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value

Comfortable shirt

This shirt fits well and is very durable. The fabric is lightweight and not really flannel-like material. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

Flannel?
August 26, 2010

I like this shirt but it doesn't feel like flannel. It's probably too dressy for the field and too casual for the office but works for everything in between. Fits true to size.

Soft
December 31, 2010

This shirt is very soft and comfortable. The fit is slim, and the sleeve length and width are just right--not too long nor too wide. It is also light and breathable.

Soft & comfortable...!
January 02, 2011

Despite the indication that this shirt is slim cut, it fit me quite well - I am on the shorter side 5'8" and a little stout... I am really pleased with the softness of the fabric, and the overall comfort /cut of the shirt. I have been wearing it mostly for casual wear, although it does seem durable enough for serious outdoor activities.

comfy flannel
January 14, 2013

As I knew the shirts are made a bit bigger, I wasn't surprised to wear it. To be honest, the shirt is made just a bit tighter than previous flannels. If I use a dryer at a laundromat, probably it will shrink to the perfect size. Having said that, the shirt is very comfortable to wear. It can match with both jeans and chinos. I purchased another one in different color. I used to wear pimma cotton shirt. This flannel maybe a replacement of the pimma cotton shirt.

my new favorite casual shirt
May 07, 2012

Patagonia always designs great products but this one actually exceeded my expectations. The fabric is tightly woven with a smooth finish, not the fuzzy finish most of immediately think of when we hear the word flannel. This makes is much more of a 3-season shirt and a good investment. The one caveat I'd have to give is that I agree with some other viewers that the shirt could stand to be a tad longer so that it stays tucked in better. But not a deal breaker. Buy the shirt--you'll love it.

My Favorite Shirt
November 09, 2009

I have a +3" ape index(long arms) and I find that this shirt fits me perfect. I'm five ten, medium build, and I wear a large. It is the softest, best looking shirt that I own. I've worn it straight from the crag out to dinner, no need to change.

Nice Shirt!.. perfect sleeve length
November 29, 2010

I'm 6' 2" with an athletic build. The problem I ALWAYS have with long sleeve shirts is they are either too big in the torso or too short in the sleeves. Not this shirt. It fits true to size (I wear a Large), but the sleeves seem to be 36" length - which is what I need. This could be a problem for some people - making the sleeves too long. But for me and my kind, FINALLY a shirt that fits right. Fabric is quality too, like most items from Patagonia... price is high, but typically Patagonia gear is worth it.

Good stuff.
July 19, 2012

I have about a half a dozen of these shirts and they're all great. The fabric is not too heavy and the construction is really good. The only thing about this shirt that I don't like is how long it is in the torso and sleeve. I'm 5'10", 160 lb. and the medium is good everywhere except for the length.

Very soft shirt
November 18, 2012

These are very nice shirts. They come out of the laundry without requiring ironing. The material is very soft. If I had one complaint it would be the sleeve length. I am tall with long arms and I wish they made a tall version.

Cute & Comfy, but watch Size
November 15, 2012

I ordered two of these shirts. They look great, feel great, but I had to return them. They were purchased for a 6'2 guy, who weighs in at 145 lbs. The Large shirts were way too short and way too wide for him. I exchanged the shirts for North Face flannel shirts that run longer and slimmer.

Good Quality Shirt
February 19, 2012

I really like this shirt and wear it casually and also to work on more casual days. It isn't thick and fuzzy like some flannels. The fabric is pretty clean and smooth with a softness to it. It doesn't require ironing after the drier machine. I agree with others that the width around the torso is good but the length is a little short (which means it looks ok untucked). The cuffs are a little shorter than normal - not sure why but makes it a little unique.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever

Stylish and Comfortable Shirt
October 27, 2010

I now have two of these Patagonia Buckshot Flannel Shirts. I found the colors and design on the Buckshot Flannels to be better than their Pima Cotton shirts. The Helper/Raven color comes out a little lighter than pictured and pairs nicely with jeans. A little pricey, but it has the hallmarks of classic Patagonia stuff: comfortable and well-made. Fits true to size (although I wish the large was an inch longer)(I'm about 5'11).

Not what i expected
January 06, 2013

The shirt is made of thinner fabric than you'd expect, also, it fits huge, i had to buy two sizes smaller than normal. Its not a true flannel more of a casual shirt. That being said though its still a very well made, comfortable, patagonia.

Pros: Build quality, comfy, Cons: poor sizing

Great Shirt, but no flannel!!!
December 26, 2010

This Patagonia shirt is great for wearing around the house or going out. Also perfect for business casual environment. Fits well and cut perfectly for me- I'm 5'11" and 170 lbs. My only complaint is that I thought I was getting a flannel. This shirt is not the soft, combed flannel that I thought it would be. It's looks, feels just like regular cotton. I haven't had to iron it, which is a huge plus; probably due to the polyester blend.

Buckshot is not your typical flannel-which is good
December 29, 2011

I'm 5'6" and weigh 150 lbs. I bought the small, and its fits well. I like Patagonia's regular fit. I wish the garment was just a tad longer, but it tucks in nicely. I like the color. This is not your typical, heavy-weight flannel shirt--this is thinner. And this is good because I don't get too warm wearing it inside the house or office. If you're looking for a rugged, heavy flannel shirt, look at something else.

Pros: Great design, Ease of use

Great at home and on the road
December 13, 2012

I purchased this shirt recently and took it on an overseas trip. Wanted something comfortable that still looked sharp. After 10 hours of flying followed by an unexpected overnight stay at JFK, it held up great - almost no wrinkles. With Patagonia you get what you pay for and this shirt is a perfect example. Great fit and construction. Imagine it will hold up over time, but I've only worn it a few times. Plan on putting it in my regular rotation and buying a few more.

Great Shirt!
April 03, 2011

I now own three of these shirts. The fit is comfortably roomy, but not overly so. The flannel description can be confusing because this is not a typical flannel shirt. It has the softness and comfort of flannel, but is not as warm or as casual. I like the two front pockets and that the Patagonia tag is inconspicuous. Overall, a high quality, versatile shirt.

November 11, 2012

This is a perfect casual long sleeved shirt. I love the pattern and the fabric. It washes well. Excellent quality and definitely true to size. Very comfortable. Patagonia products are more expensive than some of the competition, but the quality and the durability are incomparable.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use

Excellent appearance and fit nafter washing/drying
February 21, 2009

I found the fit of this shirt to be excellent--in an XL--even after laundering several times (machine wash, cold, permanent-press, and low heat.) Unlike some reviews, I found the sleeve length to perfect for me--maybe, I have long arms--and the fabric weight to be effective--after all, if I wanted insulation as a priority, I would not be getting a shirt in a cotton blend. The patterns are attractive and not obtrusive.
